But....If the BIG 3 decide to cash in this year instead of next;

Big 3 resign for less
UD, Bird, Mario, Ray come back.....
Sign Paul Gasol
Sign Caron Butler
Sign Anthony Morrow

2014 Team
-Gasol-Birdman-Oden
-Bosh-UD
-Bron-Butler-Rookie
-Wade-Allen-Morrow
-Mario-Cole

I love this scenario also.

The 2 guys I want the HEAT targeting is Pau Gasol and Anthony Morrow. AW is the perfect 3 point shooter and Pau is my dream C for next year. Champion proven and bring us size we desperately need.

I would love Melo on this team, for any other reason than to keep him from our rivals, but the Pau plus 3 point shooter scenario is great too. I prefer Ariza but it would probably be more realistic getting Morrow

I really don't get the Pau love around here. This aint 2008 guys. He's broken down, always injured, can't defend AT ALL, slow as ****, need the ball to be effective.

Such a bad fit here.

He had a good year though and if he is healthy he has value as a low post defender/ fundamental guy that has range up to 16 feet. If Pau wants to get one more ring and sign for a reasonable amount i'm all for it.

I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Butler removing rearview mirror in his car as a symbol to never look back

I thought that after year 4 it was a player option and after year 5 it was a team option. So if they opt in, they would be locked in for two years at least, unless next off-season the team doesn't pick up their option and they get a new longer deal in place.

I believe the Heat will stay out of the Lux Tax next season.

My gut feeling says that the Big 3 will opt out of their contract and resign with the Heat with a starting salary next season that will not let the Heat a tax payer.

I also believe that the big 3 will be surrounded with lots of minimum salary players, maybe Allen, Lewis. There is a probability Heat will lose Chalmers because they cant afford his salary.

To operate below the tax, I believe Riley will talk to UD to opt out to his contract and resign for a much lower starting salary without UD losing the money he should earn next season. Or who knows, there might be a draft day trade that involves UD. Knowing Riley, he always use the pick as leverage in a trade.

Then after the Heat becomes a none lux tax team next season, I believe the following season they will be a tax team.
