There's no way LeBron just happened to commit 5 fouls in 13 minutes, he was targeted. Combine that with the added extra that Heat shot 8 fts and you have a **** of officiating.

I don't like saying sports are rigged but the refs sure do a good job of making it seem like a possibility. Probably not rigged just unbelievably incompetent reffing. Pretty sad that the NBA would pull this **** after the Pacers cried like a bunch of babies next game.

Though that is usually what happens. Remember what happened in past years when Rivers, Thibs, and Vogel have cried to the media? Even though they got fines, games like this usually ensue. The pattern has been ongoing for two years now.

This is prolly the best $45K the Pacers have spent. They have themselves a fighting chance.

Ya I totally remember that. It's just embarrassing for the NBA that they can be swayed so easily by what a player/coach/GM says.

Its a good thing they won't complain no matter we'll beat them without the refs.

NOT a good thing.

We've taken "the high road" before and it gets us NOWHERE.

Other teams however, dont hesitate to bitch and look where it gets them....

I think disgusted fits my mood better than annoyed. All the people that don't realize that this happening to the Heat is a bad thing doesn't understand the precedent it sets. If the the league is allowed to get away with doing this it will continue. You don't get to complain later if you let this thing go quietly when it happens again.

No I'm not talking about the fouls disparity in the game 5 or the rest of the series. I'm talking about the premeditated targeting of Lebron James to neutralize him during game 5. F the refs, f the league, and f the idiots that don't get it.

IMO it's an admission of defeat. Pacers can't play with us without shenanigans and buffoonery. You notice when we play OKC or the Spurs these type of things don't happen. It's because a true top team, will just play basketball and act like men.

The Pacers know this is their only shot to beat the Heat at all.

Unfortunately, Game 6 I think will not be called so one sidedly, and if we play our game, we'll send these losers home.

Let's just take G6.
With 15 seconds left to play, Paul George runs over Shane Battier right in front of the refs. Guess who gets called for the foul? Instead of being Heat ball, it's 1 FT and the ball back for Indiana. Are these the "chances" you're referring to? Us Heat fans will get over it when you Heat haters get over any time you perceive that we get a game rigged our way.

 you calle ME a heat hater!!!!!!

Get over your whinging man.

Players make mistakes, refs make mistakes.

It wasn't rigged and we still should have won.

We will win G6.

Amen.

I don't understand some of the passive reaction from some posters here.
The old say teaches us that a baby who does not cry, don't eat. If we as fans don't bring these things to light in a loud way, then we're invisible and are helping their cause.

We need to let the NBA know that a false league is not worthy of our time.

So you don't think it's rigged, but think about this: if the officiating is unbelievably incompetent and many people agree that Game 5 was (among many other games in the Stern/Silver era), why hasn't a ref ever been put on assignment to the D-League or fined/suspended/fired? EVER.

Don't you think the NBA should start doing something about refs who display such incompetence?

It doesn't make sense, does it? ;)

I'll help you make sense of it, though: the refs are only doing what the league wants them to do. Maybe it's direct orders, maybe nothing has to be said at this point since it's been going on for so long already. If the league ever started taking action against the refs, I'm sure the refs would begin to spill the beans and say "we're only doing what you tell us to do!"

If the nba fines refs It puts even more pressure on them, which can lead to more mistakes, these guys should be fpcused on the game in and of itself not, I missed a call and start worrying about 15,000 out of their pocket while there is still a quarter left or something

a) Your thinking of 1 call. 1 bad call happens. We're talking about an entire game of bad calls that was completely lopsided in favor of one team, a team that only won by 3pts.

b) And so what if you think the pressure is on you? These guys already feel pressure when they are in charge of making sure the rules are upheld in the highest levels of competition in the world with millions of people watching. If you can't handle pressure what makes you think you should be in this business in the first place? NBA refs make around $250k. Performing under pressure is already factored into their salaries.

I think this thread has ran it's course. We need to look forward. Five hours until tip-off and the end to the Pacers. All conspiracies will be forgotten... LOCKED
