NBA level talent stands out in our league, always has. People over there were plenty excited about Ennis, especially in Perth. So when kids show NBA level talent they get shipped off early to the states, and end up in a college program - mostly getting lost amongst the hundreds of other NBA fringe hopefuls. They end up coming back and finding a place in the NBL while they can cash a check, or head over to Europe if they can get a European passport.

Exum is different because he had a chance to show it on the world stage, before getting lost in the crowd. Maybe he's the real deal & would have shown just as much in college, but we'll never know.
