Historical Perspective

That's kind of the point right? If one of those fans said look at how many finals we got to, you guys would bring up their competition. So why do you take exception with it towards our team? I agree that all of those teams had easy rides to the finals and that is part of the overall "historical perspective"

A couple of my friends are die hard Lakers fans and I didn't mention their weak competition in the 80s even once. So I take exception. Very much so.

Ha I mean how often have they bragged about four finals in a row? I haven't met one Laker fan who has.

Haha, a million times. Imagine his shock when I told him that like 5 of them were won by the Minneapolis Lakers.

I don't really like stereotypes, but ALL the Lakers fans I know are dumb as a rock. Kobe is the best ever, MJ stole his moves, they're going to be champions every year, blah blah blah.

But to be fair, those friends of mine weren't that smart to begin with and there are quite a few good posters here on RealGM from the LAL fanbase.

That's bragging about total titles which I agree they do. I have never heard one brag about going to four straight finals.

No one brags about finals appearances. Finals appearances are only used to bolster an already impressive resume (i.e. the 80s celts were a dynasty because they went to x out of y finals and won z of them).
