Dwyane Wade will opt out of the remainder of his contract; otherwise, the Miami Heat will be in the position to trade him to any team. I don´t think that Heat owner Micky Arison and President Pat Riley will do such a thing: they all consider Dwyane a family member of this organization. On the other hand, I don´t see Wade on going that far on tempting his good luck. The Miami Heat could make a trade with the Boston Celtics and obtain the picks Nos. 6 and 17 just to mention one example. We could select Joel Embiid (may be) or Dante Exum, and a good bench player (Shabazz Napier?). What´s more important, we could free the amount necessary to bring in Carmelo Anthony plus Pau Gasol if we pick Dante Exum or Kyle Lowry if we pick Joel Embiid.

Wait...what? You think the Celtics would give us the number 6 overall pick AND another first round pick in THIS draft for a max-contract player very obviously on the decline?

I want to live in your reality lol.

But I don't understand the mentality in sports where you pay somebody for what they have done instead of paying somebody for what they are doing. Wade isn't worth above 10 million dollars, dude barely plays, he got crap knees, he has no 3 point shot, he doesn't fit with Lebron, he causes Bosh to be Haslem, he causes Lebron to do all of the heavy lifting, Wade really is more of a problem than a benefit as of now.

That's not sports that's everything. If you are good at your job people will give you a contract to lock you in. I've been paid on several contracts where we never even started the job.

How many of u would opt of this contract? Ur already on the team the want to retire on. So much anger. Wheres the appreciation. This team went to the finals didnt it? Wades contract is actually a bargain.

Of course a Bulls fan would want Wade to opt-in. Wade doesn't have to leave any money on the table. He can simply restructure his deal to get more guaranteed money over 4 years.

Im not too familiar with wades contract details but restructuring seems highly irregular. Unless ur talking about opting out and then signing an entirely new contract with new nUMBERS. Also i i find it hard to recoup 40 mil over two years. Or that its would still be on the table.

He's owed 42 mil over 2 yes. He can opt-out and restructure his deal to something more team friendly. Something like 4 yrs 50-55 mil would give him the guaranteed 42 mil and an extra 10-12 mil on top. The only way he's not going to opt-out is if he wants to retire after his 2 years are up but I find that highly unlikely.

Wade's foolish enough to opt out and watch the Heat forming new big 3 with LBJ, Melo and Lowry. That's a ridiculous drama for your favor. You should pray both Wade and Bosh opt out.

Restructuring deals whether written or implied are forbidden by the new cba.

But opting-out and getting more money over more years isn't. Good luck proving that this was all in orchestration with the FO and Bosh/LeBron. He exercised his ETO and will take a longer deal. Nothing to see here.
