Merchandise, ticket sales, and franchise valuation. Arison could have spent the $17 mil to keep the players happy. But the problem is, at the time, Miller was completely ineffective. ALWAYS INJURED, and then the Tax issue would be even worse the next season because Repeater Tax gets worse and worse.

And those were direct results of players taking paycuts. Those paycuts allowed the team to be better, which put more money into Arison's pockets.

So if you want to be anal about it, the paycuts didn't save Arison money, they MADE him money.
Either way, my point stands: the owners should be expected to at least match the financial sacrifices made by the players.

Otherwise, anyone asking only the players to take paycuts in order to win is a hypocrite.

If every ex heat player signing with the cavs becomes news, I'll probably end up stop coming on here. Trying to discuss heat moves and trying to get over the lebron heartbreak.

This is NOT helping.

The person who you are responding too is probably the worst person to talk about basketball with. We amnestied miller after he gave his heart and soul to the team. Dude was limping and dragging his body and helped us BIG TIME in the 2012 finals against okc.

Miller WAS injured in 2010 AND was injury prone, but so was UD. remind me what was the turning point in 2010 against the bulls? UD and Miller subbing in.

The fact that he got amnestied after he destroyed the thunder is what many players and heat fans dislike.

Anyone denying this is dumb af and a salty heat fan. And needs to stfu.

Eh.. if the Heat hadn't given up extra draft picks to Cleveland for the extra years then some people would be finding that as a reason for Lebron's departure. Thing is that while there were aspects Lebron wasn't happy with he was set on returning to Cleveland, so it's time to move on.

No need for a thread for every free agent acquisition by another team. There's this thread for that viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1323728
