If SVG didn't resign and remained a Heat coach, 1) then Shaq was traded away and no 2006 championship. 2) Maybe no Pat Riley as a President of BBall operation, then there might not be a Big 3 in Miami.

The effect of winning makes you a great coach and if your losing inspite of the credentials in the past, it makes you a bad coach. Welcome to the so called hype and bandwagon!!!! hmmmmm...

Shaq sucked after 2006 and eventually nearly fought Pat and then forced his way out after he quit on the team and refused to play.

I can't help but wonder what might have been if Pat never traded for Shaq and kept Stan/Odom/Caron.

Long-term, that would have been much better than those 2007-2010 years were.

It was a fun team. But can't think like that. We won a title.. Always choose winning a title over anything. And that 06 title validated the Heat as a franchise, Wade as a superstar and also allowed Zo to win a ring and be a big part of that title team. Nothing plays out the same if we don't do that trade, and odds are we never get the big 3 and two more titles.

I wouldnt be surprised if Detroit is on the same path

BRUH Monroe and Drummond are beasts together, they got 37 rebs together against the Mavs

got dayum

Monroe is off the trade market, good I dont think he fits this team, they fit SVG's system

btw this convo is about if Stan stayed? or if he just magically switched places with Spo now? cause I wouldnt have wanted him to stay and all that, it was complicated 10 years ago. But if they switched spots, Spo would have jennings at PF over there lmao. We dont have the SVG make up, but I do think he's better than Spo.

One was fat and one was dumb.

The teams should have chosen SVG over those "supermen" in both cases.

Too often we speak of the proverbial grass being greener on the other side, without taking into account the possibility of manure being the cause of the artificial greenery.

There's not a whole lot Stan could do to make up for our lack rebounding and defense (at least before Whiteside's emergence), which is probably the largest contributing factor to our mediocre play thus far (early injuries too). That's a personnel issue.

Not sure we would be much better...SVG needs a dominating Big to be successful with his system.

Now he potentially has two in Monroe and Drummond.

Orlando and Howard were never any better without SVG.

Hell even Kobe threw Phil and Sahq under the bus and he was really never any better. Stars dont always know when they are getting good coaching. I think SVG is a good coach and we would be over 500 and integrating youth if he were coaching here. We would be practicing offense and he wouldnt been afraid to bark at and bench the vets for playing lazy and uninspired.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Not many NBA coaches can do that much worse than SPO has done this year with what he has though.. I think.

We have lost a lot of close games, to bad teams

This team should be above .500, period.

This seems like selective memory as we have won some close games too.

In reality we've played worse than our record. Its disingenuous to say a -4.71 SRS team should be above .500 because we've "lost close games to bad teams". In reality most of our losses have been convincing.

On the other hand Spo hasn't shown ever managed even an average offense without Lebron on the team despite having one of the best offensive players of all time on the team.

If you were referring to defense it can't get much worse than this so I wouldn't be afraid of any downgrade.
