Its gonna be backloaded so while the cap rises its good value. I just hope he doesnt play anymore international games honestly, Parker has done that and as he got older he looked like crap.

I have seen some scenarios where he takes less in year two before going back up to give us more space but my guess is he starts at 15 even and rises each year

Come on man. We've paid Goran big money we need him focused and committed to us and only us. If he wants to participate in the olympics fine I just don't want him going every year like Tony Parker.

Olympics aren't as big over here like in USA. I would much rather see him playing in European Cup because we at least have a chance for a medal. We aren't winning **** in World Cup or in Olympics.

But yeah, I see your point. It's just that we don't have any other point guards on our team and we will basically be fielding a backcourt of white Colemers. :(

Dude signed for 85mil.

Great man. Not 90mil, not 100mil like peoplw thought, but it was within the market. A little over market value but its fine.

Best part is he didnt speak to other teams and didnt lollygag.

I think he really likes the city. Does Miami have any good Slovevian restaurants? lol

And I don't know if it's even a little over market value. Maybe I rate Goran too highly, but if Reggie Jackson is getting 5/80mil, 85 seems like a good value.

pretty much.

I'm good with this deal. I was good with the 80-85, not happy but could live with 90.

That 100+ people were kicking around as acceptable would have me bitching all year unless he became a superstar lol.

Really man? That extra 1 million a year would make all the difference?

You guys got a steal, look at all the other contracts this offseason. Hell, the Raptors paid Carroll and Corey Joseph 4 years 90 million.

It's never just about 1 move.

In a vacuum, I didn't think he was worth 100+, but when you add in having to pay Wade and then Whiteside next year..the math didn't work.

I like Dragic, but not at 20 mil a year. Glad everything worked out

Well, I get you position, however I'd like you to understand that's a borderline sacrilige in europe.
Eurobasket might not be a big thing in the states, but it's huge in europe and just as much as young kids look up to NBA stars they look up to their national team players.
What Parker has done for French basketball by winning the 2013 eurobasket is immesureable, their first title ever and got so many french kids pick up basketball it's not even comparable with winning 2 or 3 more NBA titles. Not trying to diminish the NBA in any way, but that's just how europeans work.
Goran might not have win an eurobasket title, sure people are excited about his performances in NBA, but with eurobasket, whole country practicaly stops breathing for a while. Memphis PG Udrih that didn't show up in the last few years is by some considered an enemy of the state, with petitions to take away his citizenship and ex-Cav Ilgauskas was denounced by his whole nation after not showing up even once for these tournaments. There is a thing with european nationalisms and you can't expect players to easily ignore the national teams competitions that made a lot of them pick up basketball in the first place. All of them have been dreaming of getting an NBA title, but winning a title with their national team was part of their dreams as well.

Sure NBA had a big impact on bball popularity, but without Arvydas Sabonis or Dražen Petrović at the 92' olympics, Parker, Dirk, Gasol bros, Goran, a short-time Trailblazer Sasha Djordjević in 95 with a last second triple vs. Croatia (at war with Serbia at that time), Kirilenko in 07' eurobasket or the Greek Diamantidis&Papaloukas in 05' you can be sure international talent pool would be much poorer than it is today.

Great player, great value. Just a shame he's taking up 2 roster spots.
