We got Shaq in return. I would repeat that trade 10/10 times, and that 2003-04 team was my favorite miami heat roster I have ever followed (been a fan since 96).

So, I would not say he got away, but rather, we had to sacrifice him along with Odom and Grant for that 2006 Championship, and could have had that 2005 championship if Wade didn't get injured.

Did anybody really improve? Caron and Lamar were both pretty good with us. At the time i thought we didn't utilize Beasley enough but now looking back he was just never there mentally. Beverly is pretty good defender but everyone knew about that when we drafted him and expected him to be good anyways. Coming to Shabazz Napier and his fanatics, i don't believe he will be anything more than a 9-10th man on a good team if he's lucky although i hope i'm wrong and he becomes a isiah thomas(the new guy) type of player down the line. It's always great to hear someone overcoming all the odds and becoming special.
