Didn't someone post a stat already that Dragic averages more touches than Wade and Bosh? Only then people just tried to explain it away with him bringing the ball up the court?
I think if so this quote is basically praising Dragic for finally doing something with the ball when he has it. Good for him, hope he keeps it up.
No. The touches stat wasn't used in proper context in that post you're referring to. Usage percentage is more telling of who has the ball. Join that with some regular stats and you have a better looking piece to the puzzle. Some of the 4th quarter of last night's game is what Dragic has been doing the whole season with the ball; cross half court, give the ball to wade and stand in the corner. That counts as a touch, but I think usage is time of possession in your hands relative to the entire game. It was a glaring issue and it's probably why the team tried to even it out early on. Wade went to hero mode and it worked this time. But Bosh was off and Dragic hasn't solidified himself as a 4th quarter option and that goes back to his phx days. So wade took over. Some more time is needed to develop more trust and chemistry.
