Kevin Durant - it's funny isn't it?

Post#1 » by WadeInTheWater » Tue May 31, 2016 11:36 pm

I was watching Game 7 yesterday and the one thing that kept creeping into my mind while watching one of the best players on earth shrivel under the spotlight and i'm not sure if any of you also though this - Durant needs Wade.

Now i'm not saying it from just a pure talent or superstar alliance perspective, i'm saying it because he needs to be taught how to WIN. Remember that LeBron was NOTHING before he took his talents to SB. He was the most mocked superstar ever, a guy that could do it all but not WIN.

There is only one man (maybe two) since MJ that is as clutch/killer/cold blooded and that is Dwyane Wade (and you could argue Kobe too). When it's time to show up and get it done, you know that Flash will.

For me it's pathetic to see someone as great as KD succumb to playing second fiddle to Westbrook who is great in his own right but not to the level he is.

Durant moving to Miami in the off season would be the best thing he could ever do in his career IMO because only 1 guy in the NBA remains as a veteran superstar that can show him what it takes and it's damn sure not 'King James'

Lebron vs Boston in the playoffs in his final season w/ the Cavs shriveled in the spotlight. Lebron in the 4thQ vs Mavs in 2010 shriveled in the spotlight - those were true definitions of not only shriveling in the spot light but completely choking. Durant did all he could.....if anything Durant did too much and resorted to too much hero ball.

What Wade could teach Durant is to not Kade
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

i want him to come to miami too but not at the expense of being surrounded by the chris quinn's and norris coles of the nba. its proven that "superstars" needs a good supporting cast and right miami does not have it.they have an aging wade, an ill chris bosh and an old luol deng and the only bright spot is whiteside and he could be gone if he feels he is not being paying enough for his services or whatever.again, why would durant want to come to a team that only could reach the second round of the playoffs when his own team went to the finals!

You say that because you lack foresight. Riley would flip this roster wherever he needed to make improvements.

Durant could come east simply to avoid the Warriors and that top-heavy conference. It doesn't have to be with Miami.

but a true competitor does not shy away from top competition(cabron notwithstanding)and he could still face the warriors next year in the finals again.its proven that easy path is not always the best path because it creates bad habits and attitudes.anyways, i do believe that riley and CO. can assemble a competitive cast but they just have to have the right amount of money to do so.and with whiteside and wade and possible deng asking for big money next season(s) i dont see how he will do it but anything can happen.but i still stand on my belief that its better to have a balanced roster with plently of shooters and athletic players that to add one or two superstars just to create some hype or buzz ...whatever july cant come soon enough and it will prove if i really lack foresight as you say dear friend 8-)

Lol, the foresight comment wasn't because of Durant staying in okc or coming east. It was because you think that if we get Durant, Riley would leave a bunch of scrubs on the roster. He would wipe this roster, short of Dwyane Wade to make us a contender if that meant Durant would sign here. I worded it poorly, so I get the confusion.

Honestly, his best option is okc if he wants to join the most talented team, currently. If he wants to make the nba finals, he'll have to come East or pray GSW suffers some injuries. Outside of that, they won't make the Finals for some time. I don't see significant help heading to okc either. They blew it, letting Harden walk.

It's his best chance to get back to the finals. The only "better" chances are to Team up with Lebron or to just suck it up and join the Warriors that have a hole at SF. (Barnes sucks yet will get 15-17 mil, which he simply isn't worth).

And both of those moves would make it seem he is soft.

OKC 1 year deal is likely what he does. Westbrook has 1 year left as well.

I think both of them are gonna go somewhere together. I feel they are basically best friends by now and can't see them seperate.

Some lucky team will get them both in 17. Likely the damn Lakers. Possibly the Rockets.

KD is a pipedream. If I was in his shoes, I wouldn't even consider us, honestly. We're too old.

He probably stays with OKC for 1 year, looks at what he does the next season and decides after that. I do think OKC has some upside in them. Adams is improving. They need to add some quality bench players, though. Preferably veterans.

I'm definitely on the KD to OKC for one year boat. That dollar difference is significant.
