Spurs are hot contenders and we pushed them hard when we could've expected to lose by 30.

Dragic had a good offensive game but he could have that with any team he's not really a team player

Spoiler:
Hassan showing that he's one of the league's best but needs team members to cover bigs who want to pull him out of the key. What's the point of Babbit if he can't cover Hassan's man outside - hassan can't cover the defensive deficiencies of multiple players and cover the key.

Winslow came strong after a slow shooting start. defended the possible MVP really well and scored.

TJ had a nice game.

Waiters is what he is. I don't blame him for the loss - we should expect to lose to teams much worse than the spurs when he is the "best" SG we have alongside Babbit the best "PF" we have. I hope when JRich is back that Waiters minutes are greatly reduced whilst TJ and Winslow keep getting theirs.

Overall we did well. I enjoyed the game
.

Huh?

Yeah, I didn't really explain that well did I?

Dragic scored well yesterday, at times he was great but it's all a one man show. He doesn't make his teammates better with his play, in fact they normally aren't even involved in the play when he's hot. He gets the ball runs head down and scores a layup amongst the trees. He could do that on any team in the league and he has. His style of play will never win a championship or make his team a contender because it's him or nothing. 1 man team or 4 man team.

He's a little like a very lite Westbrook except he doesn't get the boards or the assists and even Westbrook won't get a championship title. His game is more that of a SG, an upgrade of Waiters but not near elite and not consistent.

Having said all of that my comment wasn't a knock on Dragic. He played well yesterday again he's another wysiwyg player, I've accepted him for what he is and he gives that every game. It's not his fault that Riley made an error choosing him (or perhaps it was more a move in desperation than an error after being sold down the river by Lebron).

Dragic will try hard every game, he'll make the game faster on offense and he'll score a few points, on occasions he'll score a lot of points, he'll get a few assists, he'll get a few fouls and he'll be blown past on D but he'll be trying to stop his man. Now I've accepted that and now that we aren't challengers I can enjoy watching him without him annoying me too much. However I do hope that we can trade him into something to go with Win/JRich/Hass/TJ a nice outside shooting defensively efficient PF would be nice.

That was very respectable criticism.

What do you think about Kyrie Irving? I think Dragic is a lite version of Kyrie. Kyrie doesn't make his teammates better either, but he doesn't need to because he plays next to lebron.

See idk cause you can argue that dragic made that entire 48 win Suns team better with his play style. If he's surrounded by shooters to kick it out to, he's deadly. I think the problem is he does not trust Winslow and dion enough from outside so he's forcing stuff. Every time he gets a screen he drives the opposite side of wherever Winslow is. He needs Ellington or Jrich in that lineup. Gerald green averaging 15 ppg on a 48 win team had a lot to do with the shots dragics tempo creates for him. If that Suns team hadn't gotten rid of Channing frye and brought in Thomas, dragic might still be averaging 20,5,6 in Phoenix

I think goran is a more athletic and chaotic and less skilled version of tony Parker. Kyrie is much more like Allen iverson. You could win with kyrie. If you replaced Isaiah Thomas with kyrie the Celtics would be a force worth fearing in the east

Kyrie/AI is a pretty comparison, Kyrie already has 10x the basketball IQ Iverson ever had though.

I also wouldn't consider Kyrie a chucker like I would AI, he shoots at a high clip for a scoring PG, even when the team was bad, AI only had one year where he shot at a high clip and I believe it was his second year in the league when he shot 46% on 22 ppg.

Seriously if we want to trade dragic, we better get something crazy back in value. Conley who is 29 is making 150 million over the next 5 years where as Dragic who is 30 is making 70 million over the next 4. The price of players has gone up and that means Dragic's contract is a steal. Through the first 3 games, Dragic and Conley are averaging very similar stats. If Dragic keeps this up then he should be worth at least the 2 first rounders we gave up.

Whiteside's USG isn't as high as those PER leaders. He still barely leads the Heat in USG.

If you give Whiteside the USG of Cousins or AD, his PER would be in the 40s.

And to think, there were quite a few people that didn't want the Heat to pay Whiteside and to let him walk.

Tsk tsk

I figured that was him. I get the feeling he doesn't see much in Winslow. I wonder how much of the local articles these players read cause it doesn't sound like Winslow likes him much haha.

I can't agree with Dragic not being a team player. I agree with the assessment that he's not a franchise player, that he struggles on defense and in half court offense and is inconsistent. He's a borderline allstar at most, and that only when the team's system caters specifically to his strengths, his team winning a title with Dragic being the No.1 option is extremely unlikely. But saying that he's not a team player or doesn't make his teammates better is ridiculous imo. He has the third highest +/- on the team (tied with Winslow, first is Babbit :), TJ is dead last at -10), he's 10th in the league in assist per game, his assist ratio is 12th highest in the league at .33, he leads the team in assist per 36 minutes (7.2, second is JJ with 4.7). True, he doesnt have an impact like LBJ or CP3 on the team, but in comparison to other non-superstars he does make his teammates considerably better. He's also willing to sacrifice for the team, go stand in the corner if that's what the coach asks of him, works hard and tries to overcome his shortcomings on the defensive end. All traits of a team oriented player...

To be fair, those are point forwards and centers, they'll be trusted with more possessions
