What makes people think that a healthy Winslow would not have become a superior player to this jj as the season went on? Maybe his jumper would not have been as effective as jj' is now, but I think he'd be better in every other area. I think if we do keep jj, he stays on the bench and starts at the 4 sometimes. winlows gotta be our starting 3 next year.
Moving on from winslows via trade to clear the way for jj would be ridiculous.
Winslow is obviously bad at shooting, but he's also bad at finishing layups...he needs a lot of time to develop on that end and his torn labrum is going to keep that from happening for at least a year and a half now. If getting rid of Winslow means we can get Hayward (doubtful), then that's the move you make and keep the veteran in jj.
Now if Ira is simply stating to move Winslow for jj, then that doesn't make sense. One can start and the other can come off the bench, as you said.
