It depends on how much money he'll want. I'd be open to a 3yr max but 5 years would be brutal.

Dru Smith very lucky he got that 500k this year. He should invest and manage a subway after all this-MettaWorldPanda

Yeah that's fair. I'd roll the dice on a 3yr max if it meant we landed him. Get him back by All-Star next year, then have 2yrs of his prime to really look at him. He strikes me as a guy that would actually thrive in a professional environment.

Riley said, "show me a name and I can go all in".

Cousin is one name Riley may like.
If Cousin wants to leave NOP. they better get something for him than nothing.
A Cousin for Hassan/Winslow is a good deal IMO.

His injury scares me. Worst case scenario we end up with dead weight on our cap longer than just keeping Hassan.

Achilles injuries are pretty nasty. For players who rely on explosive athleticism, it can be a career killer. I'm not sure Cousins fits that bill though.

His attitude in general would dissuade me.

Some players are winners and leaders, some aren't.

I think the Lesson from the Hassan debacle is - Players can improve skills - but won't change who they are.

Boggie never actually helped a team win meaningful games, when young and fully healthy. And he's been playing 9 seasons. all you need to do is look a little deeper then the raw stats - look at TS%, A/T ratios, team defense, leadership, cool-headedness.

To give this out of shape, 280 pounds, post devastating injury, Center in guards era..to give him Max money it just a very bad idea unless you want to get high lottery picks in the following years.

Boogie played for the worst run franchise in sports(yes that includes worse than the browns) and when he was finally free he tore his Achilles before he can get going. He's a star if we believe in our organization then we should make having stars on our team work.

He was a star. Would be very surprised to see him playing anywhere near the value of that contract. He certainly won’t be a key to a championship puzzle, especially with that attitude. Best move the Heat can make right now is to add positive attitude players. Not trade one poor attitude player for another.

It's almost like taking the Whiteside situation and mixing it with the McRoberts/Waiters injury situations and then supersizing it. If I'm giving Cousins a 3 year deal with maximum salaries, that 3rd year is a team option. Otherwise forget it.
