I’m keen to see how we manage that!

We should try and dump Whiteside and TJ this offseason if possible. But I wouldn't give up any picks or other good players/contracts to do so. Whiteside we could probably move, TJ maybe not. Perhaps we could move one or the other at the trade deadline as well.

I could go either way on Ellington, but I'd prefer to not tie up money long term there.

Overall, I agree with the OP and we should wait until 2020 or 2021 to make a move.

The cap in 2020 being estimated to be $116 million has allowed me to figure out a way to get:

Richardson
Giannis
Olynyk
Davis

on the same roster and even the same starting lineup.

Hey there. Congrats on coming out on top in the mock draft prediction for the Heat forum. You predictably beat a swath of underachievers on your way to the crown. Way to go!

For those tank commanders, are you buying season tickets? There is a business side to sports. This town does not support losers. In my opinion we need to luck into drafting another superstar. Draft position does not guarantee anything. Anyone wish that we would have drafted Booker instead of Winslow?

Our scouting team is good, we draft solid role players I think its up top that chooses reliability and predictability over potential. Most of our picks have NBA skillsets and find a role on other teams. I like where we are I just wish we stopped pissing away our draft picks and started getting more in return from some of the assets we seem to jettison at a loss.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

To answer op; draft another Wade-caliber player. Only the best in the league win championships. Gotta draft a cornerstone.

Booker over Winslow wouldn't change much. We'd still get mud stomped in the playoffs.

or.... draft a chemistry driven team like the Warriors. either way, we need to get back into the NBA draft. I know Riley doesn't prefer that option..... but Riley took a couple of unfair blows, and he hasn't been able to accept it yet. He's still trying to make lemonade out of the lemons that we got handed since 2014.

Lebron left, and then Chris Bosh gets blood clots and his career is over. Tough to lose so many valuable assets like that. It's not Rileys fault. But Riley has to let go and reset the roster. There's no saving this mess.

Chemistry driven? They have the best shooter to ever touch a basketball. And now they have the best or at least one of the best forwards in the league.

I disagree. Riley has to keep this mess going until the debt for Dragic is paid. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like if we tanked and our pick won the lottery...and it's going to Philly. Christ.

Trade everyone for draft picks. Look around the rosters in the league, and try to make a prediction and educated guesses on which teams will be the worst teams with the highest chance for lottery picks, and trade with those teams.

yep, Detroit 2004 is the only team that won a chip without former or future MVP on their team.
