But if the Wolves take Waiters as the filler salary with JRich + 2019 1st rounder, I've got no issues tacking on a 2023 protected first to get it done. Waiters is negative value right now based on the production we've got out of him since the re-signing. So you gotta pay the piper there.

With McGruder playing the way he is, we really need to consolidate the roster. A LeBronless east is wide open. With Jimmy, we are in the game, I don't care what anyone says.

I think that's reasonable. However, I'd want some quality protection on those picks, especially the 2023 you suggest.

Minny can watch Butler leave for nothing. Maybe they're prepared to do that. IDK.

I'd want the protection to be top 3 protected. If the pick falls in the top 3, then the obligation is extinguished.

I would do top 10 protected.. top 3 is too much, IMO.

If we do get Butler, don't want to give up any more assets than need. Need to have chips to trade for a 2nd and 3rd move.

Miami probably could have outbid Philly, but Riley was being stubborn :dontknow:

luckily Minnesota got a better deal than JRich and Waiters, and didn't lose Butler for nothing like most of you expected.

Mans just wanted another pick...

I always thought there were two trades that made sense. My dream deal was RoCo and Saric for Butler. I was very intrigued by Richardson and Whiteside for Butler and Dieng. Quite happy the way things worked out. Good luck to you guys. I hope Richardson becomes a legit star.
