Reliable? I think as a shooter he will be further along than Winslow was as a rook. His odds are better than Winslows coming into the league. Shooting wasn't his biggest problem. It was understanding the game. He has great physical attributes and good skills, it was the mental part he was far behind. You seen how fast his play excelled once he started to grasp the knowledge he was getting from coach K. I would bet on teachable attributes to improve over physical attributes.

Rookie Winslow was a terrible shooter so that's setting an extremely low bar for Little to pass. Why are you downplaying Little's lack of range when he looked awful in SL? Shooting might not be his biggest problem but it's one of his glaring weaknesses.
Because it was expected. He is a raw project. Everyone expects him to struggle for a few years. I don't get your confusion. If he flourish in summer league then that would be evidence he is further along than what we thought. He was just grasping the college level after most of the season was completed. Why would we expect suddenly he just blossom at a higher level. The interest was about his ceiling not about where he is at as a player.

I'm confused about why you're so optimistic about Little. After what he showed in SL you still think he has a high ceiling?

It just means they elected to continue his contract through his 4th year.

I am also a fan of Nassir Little. I think he'll be a very good player. Fans need to learn to be more patient.

Anyone else in here believes that Waiters will have his best NBA season after putting in the work this offseason? I mean looking at it from a positive angle, I am hopeful that Waiters, Winslow, DJJ and Bam will elevate their games to a higher level, that would put this team on the map and we know what Riley can do when that happens. We could be one trade or one player signing away from contending.

I have a feeling this season the Heat are going to show up to the party.

Man, I hope so. I've been cheering for him forever but he has been so disappointing.

Hope but do not believe in Waiters. IMO Waiters is looking at a situation if he sucks he will be minimal used player and the Heat will ride out his contract. If he's good he will be traded. If he is a star then the he will be part of the future. Another word Waiters has to be a star or bust. Not 13 pts a game, not 16 pts per game, he has to be averaging 20 plus on a good percentage to not bust.

As of right now the Heat have their eyes on Beal. It's gonna be very tough for Waiters to change that plan.

Same here. The guy has undeniable talent. Let's hope this is the year he makes us look good for believing in him.

Reading your posts for more than a year, I know your knowledge of the game and you make valid points. What I saw from Waiters before his injury, made me believe he was reaching that all star level that you are talking about in front of our eyes. His ability to break the defense driving to the hole creating for himself or others is crazy good. He has good court vision and we know he is clutch. His 3 point shooting has become a legit weapon since he came to the Heat. He is also a solid defender and a decent rebounder, He needs to improve his ft% and finish better around the rim. A healthy motivated Waiters should be fun to watch next to Butler who will draw most of the attention. Waiters Island will be a popular destination once again :)

Waiters was playing for his survival in the NBA that season. That is how good he can play. He has talent but not much discipline apparently. When he plays less than his best everyone knows.

There would be no long negotiation between Heat and Thunder. They had plenty of time to talk about all the scenarios.

It's a game of chicken, who will give in first, so both walk away from the table in hopes the other side gives in with training camp getting closer, this probable tactic led Woj to tweet about "parking" CP3 for now. When they do or have engaged again in talks, both sides are going to hope the other side has given trying to accelerate the process.

Riley took his vacation during this time too.
