Nunn is older than Justise and Bam. He has age and experience with professional basketball on his side. I'm not sure how Herro will grow, but Nunn confuses me. How did he slip through the cracks? He plays like crafty Wade with threes.

Last night... ORTG 129, DRTG 95, +34

CJ was the problem for Portland, 5-18 FG and his 5 TO and his ORTG-DRTG was -48 and Zach Collins and basically their whole bench didn't give them much either.

Myers Leonard had an ORTG of 0 last night, so overall he was a -90 in ORTG-DRTG.

Miami's ORTG-DRTG for players last night(a way to see a player's total impact on a game)
This isn't the boxscore +/-, but their impact where the possessions are normalized to 100 possessions.

Justice +22
Dunn +38
Herro +10
Bam +16
Dragic +31
Robinson -34
Leonard -90
Olynyk +31
Jones +18
Silva +61

This actually seems very accurate. I felt that Robinson and Leonard were very bad last night. And Silva's energy in the 4th turned things around.

I stand corrected and prefer this method over simple plus/minus.

Yeah, I like the idea of a turnover by a particular player affecting their ORTG way more than any of his teammates who just happen to be on the court with them. This is why Butler's ORTG and DRTGs are probably better than what most fans would think they are, he doesn't turn it over much so more shots per 100 possessions and he gets steals so less times defending shot attempts on defense.

If you have to explain to people why 16pts and 19rebs is not a bad thing, they're probably not worth your time.

Good post, though.

Age and his off court issues at Illi. Imo Nunn is just as refined as a player as Buddy Hield. After the draft last year felt like if given a fair shot from a team he'd be impactful

Nunn looks better because he’s been playing longer. It also means he’s closer to his ceiling while Herro has a lot more room to grow. Similar dynamic to our last good rookie class where eventually Winslow surpassed the more experienced Richardson.

Lot of ppl post big numbers to start the year, so I'm poised not to overreact, but Nunn's looking more deserving of his poetic license everyday

I would be surprised if he emerged as a solid contributing starter after so many years in the G-League tho, it's a rarity for a reason... He's been great tho, I'm just waiting for the universal BUT...

Well I'd never have thought we'd win by so many with the late JB withdrawal ( due to the non-late JB withdrawal).

Nunn was amazing, Winnie incredible and what about silva down the stretch!!!!

Shout out for Dragic who came really good at the end. He just might be our 6th man maestro.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders
