if only we had a 6'9 long strong guy with quick feet that can hit 3's on the roster eh panda

Iggy role is different than what Crowder role was. Iggy is being used as a passer and then occasionally spot up. He is basically the Heat third point guard behind Dragic and Bam. Crowder was solely off ball spot up player. Both played 4 defensively but offensively they are not.

Okpala is growing into the Crowder role. He is the 6'9 quick feet player with length Rex speaks of. So I'm not to worried about that role. What he will lack is the veteran smarts that Crowder and Iggy has. That will take a few years to develop.

But that small ball is built to defend certain types of teams. Not all teams like the Lakers, 76ers and Nuggets. Thats why I feel we do need to add a cheap legit defensive big.

We didn't have a problem with Sixers or Nuggets last year, just Lakers-- cause they're considerably more talented, not because their bigger

I agree with Twix here. If you are small you need to play an aggressive quick type defense. This team seems slow in their rotations especially when closing out to shooters and they compound the problem by not boxing out. This team reminds me a bit of the last of the big 3 in the finals, they just didn't have the energy to play that swarming perimeter defense.
Adding a shot blocking big and playing a traditional defense might help especially with the rebounding.
Myles Turner would be an ideal fit but with the way he's playing I don't think he's available
