Butler an assist way from a triple double. 17pts(3-11), 10 reb, 9 ast. Although not scoring a lot, doing everything else to try to win the game.

Habits are hard to break. That's what he's been for 3 years.
It might not be till next year that he embraces everything he's added.
I expect a more offensively agressive, 3 point shooting Bam next year. Best center in the league potential. But right now it's just potential bc he does stuff like what ur saying.

Kelly Olynyk, I think how he's being utilized as a gunning 4 works even though he didn't shoot well tonight, if he had shot well, meaning making 1 or 2 more 3s he opens up the whole offense and Miami probably easily wins this game. Miami does need to upgrade that position but until then, just keep using him that way.

He's an over 37% career shooter (multiple years over 40), so we have no reason to believe the shots won't start falling more.
Iggy on the other hand needs to cool it

Missed the second half. Happy we got the dub. Rotation and GT have certainly tightened to our advantage

On 3-4 attempts per game.
This year he's attempting 6.5 from deep (took 9 today). Until the evidence suggests otherwise, he's really only about an average volume shooter from downtown.

If ur saying he needs to chill w those Steph Curry shots, we 100% agree. But if he's open, I want him to shoot.
Seems like Spo might be thinking he can pull what he did w Duncan's confidence w everyone. Right now we have a few guy that could use a little less confidence, and I think we all know who I'm talking about.

League average is 37% from 3pt range this year so Kelly getting anywhere around that should be fine. If Olynyk is ok at PF for now then if Miami upgrades PF that will help them greatly. Just get some stability with the rotation.

The problem is that when he comes out, the bench of our 9 man rotation is Nunn, Herro, Iggy, Precious. We are too guard heavy and we're left w Iggy playing PF next to an already undersized Precious.
The fact we ignored this problem in FA is beyond me. And if we didn't already know that Meyers Leonard sucks bc he steals his wife's birth control pills, then I'm even more lost.

Oinky and Iggy are the two rotation players we most desperately need to upgrade from. They give us the least and are our 48 minutes of PF...

Yes, the size issue bothered me too but it seems that Miami is committed long term to having an undersized switchable center and now have that position covered long term with Bam and an actual backup(who should get better in time) in Precious. They have their DHO 3pt shooter in Robinson and I expect they're hoping Strus becomes his backup, Butler and Bam can handle running the offense leaving a guard spot open(basically a combo guard) where they tried to force Herro into. IMO, Miami needs basically a better version of Nunn starting which is why I keep talking about Oladipo, not only is he a better scorer, he's also a good defender which will help greatly. I haven't looked a ton, but I don't know if there's any other combo guards with the ability to shoot 20+ ppg with good defense available anytime soon, as for Beal, I don't think Miami will be able to get him without Bam being in the package.
Harkless as a PF, he's not a PF, he's a SF that can be ok guarding some PFs when switched off on them. I think the organization doesn't put much value into the PF position other then to add some defense and 3pt shooting and they're barely getting the 3pt shooting from Olynyk. The good news is, Miami can stay cheap at PF by looking for solid vet PFs and just get multiples of them to cover the 48 minutes at PF.

Can we seriously not beat that weak package? We must not even be looking at him

We clearly have no interest in Rose if we aren’t hearing that package. Which is fine, he’d be handy but he’s not a must have.
I still feel our roster needs some tweaking. Want Bamba.

Well for starters we don’t have an expendable young PG to give up unless it’s Nunn which we both know we are not doing that. Second the cupboard is bare of picks
