People are excited but we've locked ourselves into a short window to win a title and we don't even have enough to talk about winning a title.

We weren't supposed to go anywhere last year, and Milwaukee wasn't supposed to win this year. The last two seasons are why you should NEVER tank. You always prepare. You always get yourselves ready.

Tanking brings its own set of issues as has been proven by numerous teams that have hit it big in the draft and then failed to put a competitive group around the star draft pick and then watched that star leave.

Fans tend to think of putting together a championship caliber team that will compete for a title for 10 years, but the reality is the window is much smaller for the vast majority of teams. Miami has given itself a 3-4 year window to compete for a title and that is about all you can ask for. I don't like Robinson's contract, I think both Lowry and Butler are overpaid, and I am not sure Adebayo is going to ever become the dominant offensive player some would like to see, but Miami has a really good team and has maximized its cap space and found gems in undrafted guys. You really can't ask for more.

It's really amazing to see people more excited about Okpala and the Turkish kid than Herro or Lowry.

As a Raps fan I don't think you have to worry about his age as much as some other players. His game is built on basketball IQ and court vision, it is not reliant on athleticism.

He gets in the right spots for defense to clog lanes and take charges, he can defend post up plays from bigger players and is savvy enough to know when to push up against the body or give way drawing a foul. On offense he is great on the pick and roll and knows when to feed his man. He keeps defences honest on screens and has an above average 3pt%, when he hits those pull up threes you know he is feeling it.

He was a chameleon for us for the whole time he was here, deferring to Derozan or Kawhi when needed (with his assists going up) and when they were out he would lead in scoring and involve the rest of the team. He can play with starters and will make the bench a better unit when Jimmy needs a breather.

I think he will be one of those players that continues to produce at an effective rate late in his career as long as his back doesn't flair up.

He's not the youngest guy but he's played 33,877 career mins RS+PS, which is a low total for his age because his career started off so slowly (didn't become a starter until year 5). To put it into perspective, LeBron had already tallied 39,993 career mins when he left Miami at age 29 lol

Don't look at the stat sheet with Lowry, he's the ultimate intangible player and does all the little things to help your team win.
