Damn, already the most dominant big in Heat playoff history and he’s just getting started. Not bad for a “role player”

Bruh even if you ignore his first two seasons and just start from 2020 in the bubble, Bam is averaging 16.5 pts on 11.4 FGA in the yoffs. Those are role player numbers lol

With that said, I don't think Bam's a role player in the same way Ben Wallace wasn't a role player. The defense is built on Bam's ability to do everything, so he's an anchor there rather than a role player

But on offense, yeah he's still a role player

I'm not saying this to diminish Bam's accomplishments so far, but if we had Bosh, Zo, or Shaq, I think we would be unanimous favorites to win it all rn. Even though we're the 1 seed, we're not the favs in our own conference. He is elite defensively. On par with the aforementioned players, but he is COMPLETELY lacking on the offensive side compared to them. So in an era where offense is prevelant vs when the other three played, he's lacking. But I think he'll get there. Especially if he starts nailing 3s. He has the J for it.

Edit: oh completely lacking is straight up hyperbole. He's a better passer and ball handler than all of them. Idk wtf I'm talking about

Yup.
Although a very important piece in Spo’s defensive system and our best big, he is too raw and inconsistent offensively to be a one or two option. Sure he’ll get you an important bucket from time to time, but not the player you would depend on to win a game offensively. Butler, Herro, Lowry would be my options in such case with Bam being the clean up guy if needed.

Bam needs to get an outside shot. Looks at his shot chart for the regular season. I’m not saying he should be Dirk, but he has a limited set of offensive skills that can be game planned around to reduce his impact. As the ATL playoff series showed.

Bam brings you everything else but the offensive mindset/aggressiveness to help put up pts on the board. Though you need a player like him, the problem is, & it's an issue in todays gm, he got paid too much too early & affects your gm.

Players need to earn their money the way they used to. We wouldn't have this conservation if he we were still paying him minimum. More is expected of you once you receive that amount....
...We have had gm's where we go on offensive droughts where we need pts....W/ the money we're paying him that shld come w/ toughness to help address that scoring issue. For those saying 'well that's not what we pay him for' or other excuses get the f*ck outta here, that's exactly what part of that money is for. No we are not developing a Ben Wallace or Dennis Rodman. We need scoring from Bam because he is more than capable & we know it. The root of the problem I believe is mental.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Bam plays to the system. If Spo wanted him to score more he’d be on his ass about it just like everyone else. That’s a fact.

I’ll happily take his efficient 19 PPG and hope he continues to grow. I want 21 next year

We’ll that’s the issue, you’re basing his status as a player on PPG and that’s just completely wrong.

I really don’t care what Bam’s role is said to be, I just want to see wins.

I don’t see how Beno is completely wrong according to your logic tho 3am. Points win games so I can see where Beno’s logic is based. Now if you disagree with his assessment, that’s coo. But it isn’t completely wrong. Know what I mean?

Yea I mean points matter for sure and Bam gives us 19 a night. I’m fine with that but yea I obviously want to see more as he progresses. Bam is an all star caliber guy, he’s one of the best players in the world and imo the 3rd best player at his position if you factor in everything on both sides of the ball. I hope he locks himself in a gym with Bosh, KG, and/or Hakeem this summer. He plays to the scheme though and it doesn’t call for him to shoot 18 shots a game whether we like that or not
