You’re right. For my part though, my pushing to trade Bam is at least reactionary to the current 7 game situation we are in. It disgusts me to see Jimmy gutting it out and giving his last while Bam contributes nothing. After the first quarter of last game I saw enough and won’t be allowing any excuses for him anymore. This is who he is. He’s irredeemable.

I’m no longer really fooled by the talk of his defensive impact either. No one else on our team going out there isn’t giving it everything on D too. He’s not the only reason our D is solid, in fact I’d say he’s third behind Jimmy and PJ. But they are still expected to contribute on offense too and don’t get any excuses. I genuinely feel like we don’t even need 7 games and are favorites in the finals if Jimmy has a true second option willing to battle it out and fight to the end with him. Instead we might end up wasting a playoff performance Jimmy is likely unable to replicate in the future with no ship to show for it because we’ve given him a Bum who he can’t lean on for anything, not even for a minute.

Yeah, I think you’re overdoing it lol. I get being frustrated with Bam’s passiveness as a individual shot creator, but his defensive impact is unquestionable. Him being the best defender on the team is unquestionable too. And through all the chatter, he’s still the 2nd leading scorer on the team in the postseason. A high volume shot diet is just not in his wheelhouse right now. His 22 shot attempts in game 3 were a career high. And the team needed every one of them. The role required of him is probably 1 step above of his current ability. He ideally is the 3rd best scoring option on a title team in reality…but hey. Here we are. Game 7. Let’s see what happens.

I don’t think I’m overdoing it at all. If Bam wasn’t getting paid max money sure, Id shrug off his lack of contributions same as you. “You get what you pay for”. But as it stands, There’s nothing that someone like Rob Williams couldn’t give us that Bam gives in the same role for a quarter of the price. And Rob is a legit lob threat unlike Bam, and way smarter off the ball, where he makes himself available as an outlet when others are double teamed in ways Bam doesn’t know how (year 5 still can’t seal anybody or cut).

And His points are not impactful. They are a result of others creating for him directly, or creating openings for him to use his nonexistent offensive talent to score.

There’s a reason everyone from the media to the fans are saying Jimmy needs help and Miami needs a second star. Who you think people are aiming that at, with that talk? Lowry? Lol. Watch the videos Airp posted. We’re making excuses for Bam, but everyone else clearly sees it and refuses to.

And honestly I don’t think he’s a better defender than Jimmy or PJ. Can you say with your full chest that Bam could have been tasked with being the primary defender on Jayson Tatum the way PJ has been and be as successful??? They WELCOME Bam switches over PJ. We can’t even ask Bam to defend bigs one on one. And if all Jimmy had to do was focus on D the way Bam is allowed, he’s crush whatever stats Bam is purported to have.

Idc. Give me Embiid or a combo of Jerami Grant, filler, and pick and let Bam figure out his mental issues elsewhere. Especially if he takes this weirdo clearly on his PR payroll, who has smoke for injured, vet min Strus missing shots, Herro who isn’t even playing, Lowry who is gutting thru his own injuries, and everyone else on the team who dare not play perfect, but has a million excuses and deflections for Bum who gets to hide behind Jimmy and absorb his numbers and impact via proxy.

I will try to make this my last long post on the subject till the off season though lol.

Say what you want about Bam but it’s just flat out wrong and makes you sound dumb. The dude locked Embiid up and this series is already over had he not basically won us game 3 himself. We are not here without him and you can point to MAYBE 1 game this postseason we lost because his lack of scoring.

AirP. wrote:Really odd for another team's podcast to just pile on praise for Butler.

This is one of those (of many) Celtics induced takes that took a sharp turn towards a Celtics homer take, with its “ Celtic should have won easily because “ bs, with a million excuses as to why they didn’t perform to the level of (media and homer) expectations, being that they were some type of undisputed supreme team when compared to the Heat.
The dude basically tells his narration from a super thick homer glasses filled with nothing but disappointment that his Celtics couldn’t closed an expected deal, nor his boys (Tatum /Brown) perform at the level of Jimmy, although in his head he clearly believes that they are the better players, but without Jimmy’s mental fortitude.

Watch if the Heat wins, how it was nothing but a Celtics choke job, and had nothing to do with the Heat actually being the better team.

Bam continues to anchor the D and facilitate others doing the defensive job they’re doing. It would hurt to trade Bam, but it better not be for anything less than Embiid.

We’ve got one more ECF game to ride out tomorrow. Hopefully the lads can bring the same juice they did in games 1, 3 & 6. IDC if we only win 1 f*cking quarter, as long as we up at the end!

Go Jimmy! Go Bam! Go Lowry! Go PJ! Go Maximus! Go Vic! Go Gabe! Go Caleb! Go Heat!

I know I am going way back. But Bam reminds me a lot of Cliff Robinson for the Blazers. The Blazers were longing for a co-star to Drexler to step up on the their to to a title. Many thought Robinson was going to be that guy as he showed flashes but would never step up consistently to be a go-too players. Was a very good defender and versatile player like Bam.

What a playoff run by Jimmy Butler. That was phenomenal to witness. I just wish his knee didn't flare up at the worst time.

He deserved to have another shot at the Finals. So wish we made it there for him, gutted.

Those teams won’t trade their stars for our trash (Herro + Trash + Trash). That’s the problem.

Return to Miami Heat
