Nothing but business for the rest of the playoffs, AFAIC. After Game2, our boys need to put on their business suits and get ready to go to work on these clowns. :D PEACE.

76ers' Doug Collins: Celtics smell blood against Heat

INDIANAPOLIS— So why are the Boston Celtics suddenly looking so reinvigorated?

According to Philadelphia 76ers coach Doug Collins it is because they see a vulnerable potential impending opponent in the Miami Heat.

In the wake of Wednesday's 107-91 home loss to the Celtics that lifted Boston to a 2-1 lead in that best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series, Collins said Boston appears to be revived amid the Heat's loss of All-Star power forward Chris Bosh with a lower-abdominal strain.

Bosh was injured in Game 1 of the Heat's Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Indiana Pacers, with that series tied 1-1 heading into Thursday's 7 p.m. Game 3 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The winner of Celtics-76ers faces the winner of Heat-Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals.

"I think they are looking at that other series a little bit," Collins said of the Celtics during his Wednesday postgame interview. "I think they see Chris Bosh being out. They see a tremendous opportunity for themselves."

The Heat defeated the 76ers 4-1 in the first round of last season's playoffs and then did the same against the Celtics in last season's second round.

Wednesday was the first time the 76ers and Celtics played since the Heat went a full game without Bosh, falling in that Tuesday Game 2 78-75 to the Pacers at AmericanAirlines Arena.

"This was a much different team than what we saw in Boston," Collins said.

Bosh is listed as being out indefinitely by the Heat, with the possibility still open that he could miss all or part of a potential Eastern Conference finals series.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers denied his team was looking ahead to a possible series against a depleted Heat roster.

"Well that's not true, obviously," he said.

Um, I'm sure Collins' theory is correct.

Frankly, there's nothing wrong with Collins' theory. They wanna win another title as much as we do, so when they see an opportunity and use it as motivation, it's nothing odd, new or terrible. As a coach you're gonna use every method you can to motivate your players and push them into performing to their best abilities.

It's the way the team was built. Chris Bosh's salary alone could get us a sixth man of the year and 2 capable centers who are decent shotblockers and rebounders and maybe even a back up pg for cheap whos a vet. I get a little bit surprised when people find it shocking that our role players don't produce. The team has most of the cap tied up to 3 top 15 players in their prime. This is a model that is rarely replicated and you take on the risk of one of them being out and your team suffering as a result. The coaching doesn't help as well. I agree with the person that said the way the big 3 played in the finals should have still been enough to win the championship if Spo hadn't coahed a terrible series. We can still get it done though but am not going to be delusional.

I was thinking the same thing watching that game last night. That was a Boston team i hadn't seen since early on last year when they beat us twice with Perkins. I think Collins is right.

Good bring it on.

We gotta take care of the Pacers first though. Getting a big win tonight could send a big message to a young pacer team starting to feel themselves a little too much.

I think Philly can still get one more win though, it's sad, they really have no scoring threat. Evan Turner is just another Michael Beasley. A good guy to have off the bench, but he's never going to live up to the draft pick.

Philly is my surprise team to get Dwight.

Actually, the same thought went through my head after I saw them thrash a Philly team on the road that had played them tight over 2 games. I wish we had responses like that.

Anyways, I'm expecting an overall better outing (couldn't be much worse) and a W tonight. It likely won't be a pointed performance, lashing back at all the nonsensical bull**** being talked about us over the last two days, but should be good enough to take the series lead back.

Let's Go Heat!

Or... Boston didn't want to go down 1-2 in the series, after already giving up home court advantage, then proceeded to go out and play harder, smarter, and better.

There's different ways to look at a situation. It doesn't make what he said more sensible.

At this point Boston probably thinks they'll be playing the Pacers

That's most likely the main reason for their improved play, but it's not off the hands that our struggles going along with their chances of advancing to the Finals increasing have added extra motivation to them. I expect us to come out the same way tonight though.

Not a chance. I think we're stuck with him.
