The key being it wouldn't be waste of the city's money

Plus the city politicians get to change some of the bad rep they got with their vision (or lack of) when they projected an entertainment hub year round in the area. Plus they get to do it on someone else's coin.

You mean that Miami tower?

Or the Miami version of Times Square? AKA Miami World Center

I think those are already in effect. They lacked the foresight of traffic.

I believe he was referencing the idea of Marlins Park stimulating its immediate area year round. Was silly to begin with, but with some development creeping west and a viable MLS franchise drawing people there, he is saying maybe it can turn some of that projection into reality.

As for the traffic thing, meh. Every metropolitan area deals with traffic. That goes hand in hand with the density that is needed to make commercial areas viable. If it incentivizes people taking alternative options other than driving everywhere, then I'm with it. The viability and improvement of public transportation options usually depends upon demand. It doesn't work so well when the transit comes before the density.

^^^ What he said...
As for transportation, Miami feels their new version of "Grand Central Station" will allow for less traffic and more public transportation

Image

And since we at it, more upcoming development in the area..

and of course the new Miami Innovation District which is supposed to attract some of the technology giants from Silicon Valley

In 10 years, Miami will look completely different from today... and politicians will be richer on the way there...

Looks very, very expensive. And expansive. That explains the grumblings of expanding all highways south of the golden glades.

I can imagine property value of surrounding cities going way up for housing. Communities like Morningside which have those OOOOOOOOLD Miami homes are gonna be goldmines. I have a few friends that own property there. It's right off the 195 and biscayne. But man, what a risk...

Here's another gem down here.

Porsche Tower

Elevator that your car goes into and you have a psuedo-garage in your crib.

Miami is going to explode in about a decade.

So the other day, Samuel Dalembert came to my work and purchased a little over $12,000 of stuff (autographs, artwork). He's a bit of a Disney fan, who knew?

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Man Miami better put forth projects to protect us when the water level rises.

Its rising by 2 feet in 2050, near Sunny Isles. 2100, destruction to crops and all that plus the levels rising even more... Would Miami even be here if nothing is done?

We about to be in the glory years of Miami/South Florida. LIVE IT UP then we shall die lmao

Is it true the Keys will be gone in a few decades tho? I know people also like to chill near Elliot Key which us more north of the others keys... But it saddens me that in my lifetime they could be gone underwater soon. Plus Miami beach is already man made. These people have their work cut out for them

The condo's are booming though, more people are also renting.

Oh and isnt some big mall coming? Aventura is already like the largest mall in Miami Dade, then Sawgrass in Fort Lauderdale. THEN that Mall of America, or whatever it will be called..? I cant even keep up with all those projects going on

Brickell is cool tho, its gonna be poppin even more in a few years. Gonna have a nice skyline too, full with high rises

Just thinking about playerfans.

Anyone know if LO'smyguy is still around anywhere under a different name. Or that massive Shaq homer whose name I've temporarily forgotten?

I highly doubt they'll let South FL drown. They'll probably dam the coast or institute something to control the water levels at the shore.

I won't be picking up that little seafront Keys number now after reading this.

Btw We lost 10m of coastfront last winter. I may have to close the ground floor and park the boat down there soon.

Regarding the realgm forum:

Lately, whenever I try to read a page, all of sudden the page will take me down to the bottom, the advertising section.

I scroll up to read again and it happens again and again. wtf! I understand they need to make money but this is annoying enough to lose visitors. Does this not happen to you guys? Happens to me on my computer and my phone. There gotta be a better way to advertise without disrupting the reading. I read many blogs and webzines and there are different ways to monetize the site without pissing off the viewers this much.

Is there any way to avoid this? Help, please!
