Herro is getting crapped on because other teams' fans are biased against seeing Dame in Miami, because they don't want to have to go up against that squad. Period, point blank, that's what's going on there. Objectively Tyler isn't some terrible piece or bad contract, he's young and has 25+ ppg potential, and can create for others.

I doubt anyone craps on Tyler more than Heat fans

Wouldn't be a fan of it.

PG depth is crazy bare right now. Feel like Gogi is our best bet

I just took a look at the remaining PG free agents and you're right. It's pretty bad out there.

I wonder if we could add Malik Beasly for the vet min.

If we acquire Dame...

Dame/???
Richardson/Malik Beasley
Himmy/Jaquez Jr/
Love/Highsmith
Bam/Bryant/Robinson

Good balance of offense and Defense right there. Last year we struggled to score. Dame, Beasley, Jaquez (hopefully) and Bryant helps that out a lot. Definitely allows Jimmy to coast in the reg season and takes the scoring load off of Jimmy & Bam.

Defenders in Jimmy, Beasly, Bam, Highsmith & Richardson.

Shooters in Dame, Richardson, Beasley, Love (I hope).

Still a little small though. Hopefully we can add a 4 with some size or who plays bigger than their size and a decent PG for depth.

I didn't include any of the guys who will or could possibly end up in the trade for Dame.

Only thing that would make me happier is we sign Beasley. And not that scrub Malik. I’m talking about the OG B-easy Beasley. We’re pretty thin on the PF side, can’t depend on Love. Bring him in Pat, grow some balls!

People keep saying this but I don't see the appeal. Winslow even healthy isn't really a great fit here and unfortunately he's still never healthy.

Gogi I can understand as a locker room/vibes guy as a 3rd string but I think I'd prefer to give that spot to one of the undrafted guys and develop some new blood for this next iteration.

If we are forced to lose Caleb then DJJr would be a solid replacement to give us some of the things he brought, I wouldn't start him though.

Also depending how the trade shakes out if we somehow shed enough salary to unlock our MLE I could see us possibly luring Malik Beasley here with a staring SG role. Lakers have 11 players signed and only like 12mil left they can spend since using their MLE on Gabe so they may not be able to offer him much more than we could.

The other one is Christian Wood. The fact he hasn't been signed yet makes me think he's waiting to see how this Dame trade shakes out to see what's available for him. Might be someone Miami could see playing good next to Bam and if we have Lillard at the point of attack Miami might want to play bigger.

I think he'd stay with the Lakers if he were taking the min. If this trade shakes out and we get back slightly more salary then we send out then we maybe able to lure him with the 5mil MLE

The amount of space and attention Lillard would generate in the half court would make someone like DJJr very effective. Being able to cut backdoor and have space inside the paint to get open for dunks. Would be nice to add a vertical spacer to this team outside of Bam.

Another ideal benefit of getting Dame is a player who gets to the FT line at a high clip like Jimmy. We don't really have anyone else who generates a lot of fouls on the opposing team.

Other teams' fans? He probably gets crapped on more in here lol.

Honestly I think its a done deal. Portland will say what they need to try pry everything they can from us but I can't imagine the talks to ever get to a point where everything breaks down and we don't get it done.

Yes, everyone can hate on Cronin, but the man is just doing his job.
This posturing could get them another pick or a slightly better trade, so he has to do it.

IF we get Lilard, which is likley but not certain, rest of the roster really depends on what else is in the Lilard package.

I really think we need to keep 2, or at least 1 of Martin, Jovic, JJJ.

Assuming the salaries are Lowry + Herro for Dame, and that we lose both Martin and JJJ as sweetners :

Lilard/Bouyea/Dru Smith
J.Rich/Robinson
Jimmy/Cain
Jovic/Love/Highsmith
Bam/Bryant/Robinson

In this case scnario, we're really missing another dependable scoring Guard.

If we keep Martin but lose Jovic, we really need another big guy that can defend and shoot.

If we lose all 3, we'll have real depth issues

It actually just hit me. Barry might have been right all this time. The plan really might have been Beal AND Dame.

Think about it. Word came out Butler told the front office Dame is the guy they need to target (unless this was after Butler found out they were trying for Beal). It was also revealed Dame has been in contact with Butler and Bam. Why would we still poke around Beal knowing we have a shot at Dame. Our FO were trying to get Beal cheap enough where they could turn around and get Dame too I'm assuming. I also could be looking too deep into it.

Makes me wonder if we get Dame if they'll possibly shake the tree a little and see the cost of a Harden rental.

Anytime you have 3 highly paid stars on a roster, you’re going to have depth issues. I’d love to keep JJJ and Jovic out of it to have cheap labour with upside, along with the inevitable FA journeymen we might catch on too.

Terrence Ross as a vet shooter running the Ellington sets would be a choice. Hell, we’ve been keeping Mychal Mulder around at SF to essentially be that guy too. Plenty of options.

There is a better Beasley that’s available that we can call.

1. Terrence Ross would be a good SG addition

2. I really think we SHOULD keep Jamie and Jovic.

We offer 2 picks off the bat - 2028 and 2030.
Then We add another 1 or 2 picks we get for Herro via a 3rd team.
Then we should unlock the OKC pick, and add another pick in 2024.
Then you have Expiring in Lowry - that's positive value.
Then we can add Martin - another very positive deal they might net them another pick at the trade deadline.

So we're giving up 4 or 5 FRP picks in total + Another tradable player in Martin + Lowry expiring.

That's a SUPER FAIR deal. No reason to add JJJ nd Jovic. Which relevant team offers more?!

Not to mention Lilard only wanting to come to Miami etc.
