It’s not just Gabe. It’s cashing in Wiggins for Gabe, Hachimura, and a 2031 1st. We open up an extra 30 mil in cap space next year with that 1st but i guess we’ll just stink with Wiggins and bury that space next year on him.

We should be turning all of our expirings into as many 1st round picks as we can.

Wouldn’t say it’s not possible. Might have to add Highsmith to make numbers work. I could see Lakers wanting both Wiggins and Highsmith so Knecht coming back could be very realistic

Exactly!! Guaranteed Spo turns Gabe back around and we get that 1st. Who knows maybe Hachimura also works out here too as a backup stretch PF. Honestly if they suck who cares. We get a future trade asset and they come off the books next year. These are the deals we should be going for.

Idc what anyone says, Lamelo and Herro would be a fun back court to watch offensively.

No they're not. They're happening more often these days because players are better athletes than they're body can tolerate.

In this hypothetical, Herro would be traded in a package for Lamelo.

Gabe is expiring making 11
Hachimura expiring making 18.2
So Lakers sending out 29.2 and we send out 28.2.
Knecht makes 4M and Haywood 5.6M
Add those two its 33.2M Lakers and 33.8M heat.

Wiggins final year making 28.2 but has a PO next year for 30.2

I don’t see many homes for Wiggins

Lakers for: Vincent, Hachimura, 1st

Clippers for: Bogdonovic, DJJ, 1st

That’s pretty much it. I’ve looked at all teams depth charts. If someone can find a home for him let me know what other team makes sense. Please don’t say the Kings for DeRozan.

Id rather keep whoever we pick at 20 over trading him for a 36 year old Demar Derozan, especially if we weren't going to trade it for a 37 year old KD.

We should be all over this guy if available!
Sure he's developed bad habits and plays stupid n all but under Spo and Heat culture, this guy can elevate the game of Bam, Herro, Ware and everyone around him. Not my ideal pg but beggars can't be choosers atp, lol

It’s just about a dollar for dollar matching trade. 33.7 for 33.8 pretty damn good trade if you ask me all around. Lakers get two defensive wings who fit perfectly with Luka and James.

That has to be absolutely out of the question.

If his value isn't high in the market rn, I'd wait until the trade deadline and see if he can play better in our system. He was injured and that affected his play at the end of the season. I think he can at least raise his value by the deadline.
Now, for a decent pg, I'd trade him in a heartbeat anytime

Hachimura, Vincent, and Knecht 33.7

for

Wiggins and Highsmith 33.8

This trade needs to be sent in like yesterday. Guaranteed you will find plenty of Laker fans on board as well.

The following is trade machine approved

Trade 1.

To Spurs - Bam, Kyle Anderson

To Heat - Keldon Johnson, Barnes, Castle, pick 2, ATL 2027 1st, 2031 best of SA and Sac pick, pick 38, 2026 2nd, 2029 2nd

Trade 2

To Jazz - Tyler Herro, Rui Hachimura, Obi Toppin, pick 20

To Pacers - Jordan Clarkson

To Lakers - Andrew Wiggins

To Heat- John Collins, Collin Sexton, Gabe Vincent, pick #5, 2030 Utah 1st

Take Harper 2, Kneuppel/Bailey 5 (or trade down for more assets), BPA at 38

Plus 3 future 1sts.

I don't know. We don't have many options.

In this scenario Barnes, Collins, Sexton, Vincent all come off the books next offseason

More likely Riley trades wiggins and 20 for derozan with kd of the table. I think the goal is to give herro some offensive help.

Aren't the Heat in the shape they're in right now because being in the East has dulled Riley's senses? He would still be making great deals if the Heat were in the West wouldn't he? The Heat have been great at taking advantage of being in the weaker conference. There's no way in hell that they go to 7 finals in 16 years out of the West with the rosters they've had the last 20 years.

Some people in here are starting to act like entitled Lakers fans. It's been 25 years since the Dolphins have won a playoff game, but it's only been 2 seasons since the last time the Heat were in the finals. They were due for a rebuilding cycle. But yes, what I said in my first paragraph is gonna make the rebuild much worse than it should be.

Return to Miami Heat
