So if we play the Hornets 82 games a year, then we'll have this "size advantage at PG" you've been outing with Rose.

Best PF's are close to 7 feet. There is a big difference in having a guy be undersized, but is fast as hell in the backcourt, than a guy that might have to cover Duncan and K.G and Rasheed Wallace, be to undersized, with a 35 inch vertical is a big difference. Than a pointguard that is faster, has longer arms, and with a 40 inch vertical.

Tons of PFs who measured about the same as Beasley. Without his production and explosive skillset.

Ok...but even if I DON'T think its too big of a problem for Beasley in the feature, CoolD is somewhat right: Rose is at LEAST average size for a PG while Beasley has below average size for a PF.

No, but in his position, is not that much of a disadvantage.

If Rose was slow in his position it would be very important. In PG position speed is more important than size if you are around 6 feet tall. In Center position also with PF position size matters more. Is like comparing running back with quaterbacks, different positions.

You just look bad with your blind arguments. Brand, Boozer are not top PF's? Haslem has done well enough against the big PF's with his size. And why do you knock his 35'' vertical, for a PF that's good. Beasley has enough size for the skills he has to dominate.

The key to Rose is he has a 6-8 wingspan. That would be the best out of that group if I guess. Not to mention superior quickness and vertical. He would be physically imposing over alot of players.

Yeah, the 35" vert is actually very good for his size. Better than many guards in fact.

Why do we have to go through the whole with/without shoes debate? Its stupid - I miss the old days when MJ was 6'6" and that was the end of it. Think about it, if I give you the name of somebody you could easily tell me his height: Magic (6'9"), Zo (6'10"), Mashburn (6'8"). These are all consistent WITH SHOES measurements. Without shoes, I am positive most players would be considered undersized, even though they are the ones who have, historically, set the NBA protoyypical sizes for each position.

Although, I do remember Glen Rice being measured 6'8" with the Heat and then 6'7" in his Charlotte/LA days, and I think it was credited to his shaving the Kid-N-Play flat top fade.

Beasley is big enough to play PF, if you don't think that then you have never watched him play before. In fact, his ideal position is the

Yeah, Beasley has awful wingspan and is really slow for a PF.

All these things said about Rose -- length beyond his height, quickness, ability -- can be said just the same about Beasley at PF.

So what's the point?

Here's something I got from the Bulls board.

2. Michael Beasley- he is the opposite of Rose. At first I thought his measurements are not impressive. His height and wingspan are not that great. However he has a 8'11 standing reach. That means despite being shorter than Al Horford of last year he is equal to Horford in size with arms up. He also measured equal to Horford in strength and only 7 lbs lighter. Horford just played a entire year at center. Lots of people are saying Beasley looks bad because of these measurements. I think its the opposite. These numbers suggest that Beasley may be a bigger inside player than thought. That he may also be able to rebound higher than thought at the NBA level.

Combine that with his speed and agility tests which are excellent and comparable to a guards, and we already knew he has the skills to be a star I think he should def. be our pick if the bulls pass on him.
