yeah Howard/JJ/Deron/Wallace is a nice 4some, and easily 2nd best team in the East

He used to be a great shooter when he played for us. You remember?

does he suck now or what? I admit I haven't watched him play in a while.

but he was Pat Rileys 2nd choice a few months ago if Shane Battier didn't sign with us. Now Pat can have both and we get a Center with our mini MLE on Camby

again, like I said, it's not hard to find Guards and Forwards..... I don't think we should be going after Ray Allen when we have a legit shot at Camby......

Ray Allen schedules Thursday free-agency visit with Heat
By Ira Winderman

Agent Jim Tanner confirmed Tuesday to the South Florida Sun Sentinel that guard Ray Allen will meet Thursday with the Heat.

Heat President Pat Riley is currently at his Los Angeles-area home, but Tanner said Allen's meeting with the Heat would be in South Florida.

The NBA free-agency period opened Sunday, with free-agent signings not allowed until July 11, as the league computes the 2012-13 salary cap. Allen spoke with the Heat by phone Monday.

According to NBA.com and ESPN, Allen is scheduled to meet Friday with the Los Angeles Clippers, who are in position to not only exceed the Heat's $3.1 offer of the taxpayer mid-level exception, the most the Heat can offer, but potentially also offer a starting job alongside Chris Paul.

Allen has a reported standing offer on the table to return to the Boston Celtics at twice the yearly salary the Heat can offer, but apparently was not pleased with the way he was stripped of his starting job there last season in favor of Avery Bradley.

With the Heat, Allen also would be counted on as a reserve, with Dwyane Wade locked in at shooting guard.

A thought just popped into my head...

Ray sits down with Pat, and while Pat is talking, Ray just bursts out laughing.

"LOL I AM JUST BUSTING YOUR BALLS MAN. DO YOU REALLY THIBK THAT ME, A CELTIC, WOULD SIGN FOR HALF PRICE TO PLAY FOR THE HEAT? PFFFF HAHAHAHA."

And it's being recorded and gets shown on Comedy Central, Spike TV or something.

Seriously though, Pat needs to tell Ray to be all business tomorrow, and be ready to negotiate to a point where he could say deal or no deal, because if it's no deal, Pat can just say thank you for your time, and already have his private Jet prepared to fly to Houston after the meeting.

Collin says Camby is leaning Miami

Lets say 2 years 12 mil vs 3 year 9 mil. Im not convinced Pat is really going after Ray knowing the financial realities of this situation

We're talking to Rashard Lewis. I heard Izzy Gutierrez on 790 yesterday talk about him as a possibility but now there's confirmation from his agent that he and the Heat are talking.

Ray-Ray, Camby, and Lewis would make me damn happy of our free agency haul. I WANT THEM ALL, DISCOUNTED!!!

We're being used and played for suckers.

Do players that get the anmesty used on them still get their money from their original contract?

If so, Rashard might as well just join Miami for the minimum

Sadly there's slim pickings which is why players are able to use us. They know there isn't a lot of talent out there, and the other talent is getting fantastic offers from other teams.

I guess I also thought we'd have an easier time after winning the championship but these players seem to care about money first and foremost.

I wouldn't be surprised if this whole Allen wanting to come here is just a ploy to get us to only focus on him and lose out on other FAs that can make us better and he goes back to Boston at the end of the day. You can't underestimate how badly the celtics want to be beat us  That would be evil and genius on his part. If push comes to shove, i'll take Lewis he can learn to play defense on this team the way Bosh did.

Then perhaps Rashard would not mind the minimum, since hes already making Shaq type dollars... and if we sign him for that it doesn't affect our Allen chase...

I think Chris Tomasson said he'd only sign for the 3 million... so we can't get him and Ray

Return to Miami Heat
