Unless we can package him for a significant upgrade @ the 1 spot I'd like to give Nunn another run. Seeing how he was able to perform well in only his 1st season it wld be interesting to see him unleashed further & see how far his game goes in his 2nd yr. He averaged 15.3pts, 3.3ast, 43.9% fg, 35% 3s & 85% ft. That's not too shabby at all & he's an undrafted rook.

Observing our weaknesses during PO's run, we needed a defensive/rebounding/stretch 5 & another scorer. Even w/ no Goran & a hobbled Bam another big + scorer wld have been significant help in the finals. The point spot isn't an urgency, especially the way we play & share the ball. Jimmy can also play the 1. An Ibaka & Gallo type addition wld help more than upgrading @ the point.

One young player I really want us to take a chance on is free agent Harry Giles.

22 YO, spent 2 years in dysfunctional Sacramento.

Kid is big, mobile, and just might become a real shooter. Has some natural talent, 78% FT.

Iv been very disappointed in Giles. He looks like a mediocre journey man. What made him intriguing in high-school was his athlecism. It looks like its gone.

DJ Augustine has some Beno-like qualities, but maybe he's priced above mle

Rex what do you think is Giles potential now? I was really intrigued in him when he was in high-school. But I just been really unimpressed with his lack of explosion and athlecism since rehabilitating his knees. He reminds me if a poor man Christian Leattner.

I wanna keep both Crowder and Iggy. Remember how soft our perimeter D was before we acquired them in early Feb?

Nobody on our team guarded Giannis better than Crowder did during the playoffs. We’re going to need him and Iggy next season for Tatum/Brown/Kemba/Kyrie/KD/Siakam/Giannis/Middleton/Simmons etc.

Bring em back.

Iggy is about to be 37 with a lot of miles on him. I thought he benefitted greatly from sitting at home while in Memphis and then obviously the two or three month layoff before going into bubble. I'm sure if he had been playing all year his age and mileage would start to show, I'd much rather see those minutes go to Okpala.

It's definitely important to not undervalue perimeter defense as a key component of building our team.

Either one of the UK guards makes sense defensively.

I would like to sign Giles too to see if we can make something of him, but I don't see how he fits into our cap plans or limited roster space. I expect to see Chris Silva and Kyle Alexander back next season and a more meaningful role for Okpala, especially if the latter expands his offensive game. Gabe Vincent will likely be signed as a guard. Vincent was really good at SXF. Add a player picked at #21 (Josh Green, Jalen Smith, Cole Anthony, or RJ Hampton etc) and maybe a buy-in for a SRP (Cassius Winston?) and we have a robust group to develop. Giles would have a hard time getting minutes, especially if he wants more than vet min.

With the market depressed, there will be ample players at vet min for filling out the bench. Right now, I'm more worried about making a move too soon and missing out on Giannis. I am especially worried about Riley trading Herro or Duncan for a chance at Oladipo. That would be a massive error, imho.

The only free agent I'm interested in right now is AD, who looks like he'll stay with the lakers.

Keep the powder dry and get Giannis next season. Butler/Bam/Giannis with our other guys rising is a formula for a championship team.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

Yet offensively, we can't live with anyone that can't hit 3's.

Bam, Jimmy and hopefully Giannis demand every young guy added will be a shooter.

While I agree his great athleticism is probably forever gone, he's still a decent NBA athlete.

I think he's underrated as a young big SKILLED guy. I think he has good BB IQ, good size, is mobile, surprisingly good vision and passing, good form and base to be an outside shooter, he actually hit mid range shots this season at a good clip, high FT%, and still developing. He's much younger then Silva.

For a 22YO, That's all I can ask from a cheap free agent. It's the best gamble I can find on the market at our price range, and I also think he might be able to Bam's backup (because of his size + mobility) while also being able to play next to Bam if his jumper proves legit.

Either Maxey or Quickley would be fine there I think. I know you're down on the formers ability from long range, yet most who've evaluated him think his one year at UK was more of an aberration than the standard. I think he will need a bit of work to bring the release point up, but he's fairly natural as a shooter.

Damn Dan Craig left to the Clippers to be an assistant for them. I hope they fill that spot with UD, Payton or bring back Fiz.

Its weird because he needs to get stronger. No point of being a big if your only getting 4 rbs a game. But he likely can't afford to gain upper muscle because of his knees.

This is so strange to me unless Clippers owner opened up the wallet and made him lead assistant. Otherwise, why leave a situation where he is Spo's right hand man.
