Personally, I wouldn't think we'd get a wing, because who at 20 this season could we reasonably expect to help lead an offense in the near future? Any wing capable of that is the high lottery.
PG or back up C are the 2 biggest holes right now. We have 1 legit PG (Rozier is washed, Stevens is too tiny, and Dru has one leg) and no legit back up C (Love is washed). If I was a betting man, I'd unless there were some Gators haters in the staff, Walter Clayton is who I think they'd pick. Mature guard, can run an offense and play off ball, not afraid of the moment, not super small, built tough, has good athleticism on both sides of the ball, can shoot from anywhere on the court. The type of guy Spo would put in the rotation instantly.
Not a lot of point guard needy teams from 10-19. We should be in great shape
I think Clayton replaces a lot of what Duncan does on offense (except for screen setting). Clayton potential to run off screens and be an elite shooter and be able to handle the ball fills a big need in replacing Duncan. Hopefully defensively Clayton becomes a quality defender. I think Clayton private workout will say a lot on how the Heat pursue him. Does he grasp professional play concepts, and can he play right away will hold a ton of value.
PG: Clayton
SG: Herro
SF: Jovic
PF: Adebayo
Ce: Ware
Is that something that can blossom? If Heat are highly confident in this, then resigning Mitchell, moving Wiggins and the other vets for better complementary vets will be a high priority
