Re: **NBA Draft Discussion 2024**
The Heat and Duke ties run deep. They will give a ton of consideration to both Duke players on the board considering the in depth intel they will have on both Flip and McCain

Re: **NBA Draft Discussion 2024**
PG: Rozier - Richardson - Wright - A. Williams
SG: Butler - Herro
SF: Jaquez Jr. - D. Robinson - Highsmith
PF: Jovic - Martin
Ce: Adebayo - Love - Bryant - O. Robinson
Thats 13 players under contract. The Heat have two draft picks, which will put the roster at 14 players. 13 players if Martin as expected to opt out. The Heat do not have roster room to get a real free agent. The Heat have made it known they want Wright back and its a mystery how they feel about A. Williams. That is two players the Heat are likely to bring back on the min, bringing the roster to 15
I am pretty sure the Heat are gonna try to get Olynyk, but may be impossible to get contract wise. But these two picks are taking up most of the roster slots.
At this point I am targeting Collins and Kel'El in the first and Beekman in the 2nd.

Those shot mechanics look sustainable at the next level. I think he only gets better and better from 3. I'd be very happy with the pick. Can have an immediate impact off the bench as a 4/5. Sure beats having to bring in Bryant, Love, and O Rob. Can definitely push Jovic for a starters role or possibly move Jovic to a more wing position point forward spot.
That's why I THINK his shot will eventually come along. It looks good and he's at least willing to shoot it. If it doesn't come along he's probably out of the league by 30.

If he does, he probably has a long career ahead of him a la Kelly.

I haven’t watched much tape on Flip, but is he kinda Kaminsky vibes? Maybe it’s just the Polish surname lol, but it scares me off.

I'd say Kyle is more athletic and moves his feet better than Frank the Tank did. He's also 2 years younger than he was. That's a good example of his floor tho.

I would say more Kelly Olynyk then Frank the tank with some flashes of Markannan to his game.

Re: **NBA Draft Discussion 2024**
Pulled from NBADRAFT.NET
C/PF Kyle Filipowski
NBA Comparison: Isaiah Hartenstein/Brad Miller
Strengths: Solid big with determination and good level of coordination and productivity … A hard worker, mentally tough, no nonsense type of player … Solid mobility considering his size and has solid body control, though rarely leaves his feet for long … Plays with a lot of confidence and consistency … Has a good feel for the game with the ability to shoot and pass it … Productive scorer, does a solid job of taking what the defense gives him and using his size to his advantage against smaller players … Good touch around the rim … Post footwork and skill set are solid, and uses technique with pump fakes and drop steps to gain angels to the basket … Boxes out well for boards… Post ability, in particular rebounding, is enhanced by attention to detail and fundamentals … Shows toughness, to fight for position in the post and grab rebounds …. Good at setting picks and popping or rolling to the basket … Not averse to contact … Will bully ball opponents when he can … Improved as a spot up outside shooting threat, adding some efficiency as a sophomore (35% from three) … Jump shot shows solid form and some potential to further improve on efficiency .. Shows a lot of toughness, both mentally and physically … Decent running in the open floor with good mobility for a 7-footer … At 20 and a half, is one of the younger prospects slated to go in the first round … Good dunker off two feet when he gets into open space and sheds a defender … Showed some improvement in his ability to handle the ball and take slower opponents off the dribble, particularly on broken plays or with the defense not set … Decision making and passing showed improvement in his sophomore year, he has nice vision for a big and will find cutting teammates with crisp passes … 2.8 assists per game. His passing ability is probably the most underrated aspect of his game, and coaches love bigs with vision, passing and understanding of the game …
Weaknesses: Solid floor but low ceiling type of prospect. Upside is questionable … Below the rim type … An underwhelming athlete, not particularly fast or explosive … Shooting numbers improved from three, but nothing outstanding from behind the arch or stripe … Improved to 35% from three as a sophomore (28 as a FR) on one make per game … FT shooting actually dipped from FR to SO seasons (76 to 67%) if he can become a more reliable outside threat, it enhances his ability to stretch out the floor at the next level … Lack of length and explosiveness makes it difficult for him to score (and rebound) against athletic bigman … Lack of lateral speed hurts his ability to defend some … While he added some efficiency, his numbers did not improve dramatically from freshman season, granted he was one of the most productive freshmen in the nation playing at Duke … Lacks great length with a wingspan the same as his height (granted standing reach at 8’11 is good for a 4, but a little small for a 5) … Not a rim protector. Gives up defense, meaning offense needs to become better to compensate … Lacks much of a feel for shot blocking and timing and his lack of explosiveness is especially apparent in a defensive position … Recorded a 32.5 inch max jump, which is not terrible, but illustrates his physical limitations … Despite not turning 21 until November, his athleticism and statistical gain suggest he’s peaked to some degree … Not a plodder, but somewhat mechanical in his movements …
Notes: Measured: 6′ 10.75” barefoot, 229.8 lbs, 6′ 10.50” wingspan, 8′ 11.00” standing reach, 27 inch standing jump, 32.5 max jump at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine … Came into college as a five star recruit and a McDonald’s All American out of Westtown, NY … Led the Blue Devils in scoring … Averaged 15.8 ppg playing at one of the top colleges in the country … One of the most productive Power Conference bigmen in both of his college seasons …

Filipowski's pick and pop game, boxing out, and screen game are very appealing for what we need out of a big man that's playing next to Bam.

Re: **NBA Draft Discussion 2024**
OMG just draft da Silva lol. We can replace Caleb Martin and Haywood Highsmith with just one Tristan da Silva pick. Also a damn good FT shooter at nearly 85% which seems to be a lost damn art when I look at all these prospects. No better stretch 4 in this draft at nearly 6'10. Cmon man how long have we've been trying to find PF's like him.

Any comparison of Flip to Markkanen is the equivalent of comparing a 6’2 combo guard that lacks explosive nba athletic traits and is shooting 35% from 3 and 74% FT to Steph Curry as a NBA prospect.
It’s just not based on anything but hope.

Re: **NBA Draft Discussion 2024**
da Silva and JJJ are like the perfect 3/4 combo coming off the bench. JJJ likes to play more inside while da Silva does his damage on the perimeter. Our bench would be crazy deep with these two coming off of it. You could also run dynamic jumbo lineups of Bam, Jovic, da Silva, JJJ, and Butler.

Tristan da Silva hands down continues to be my top guy. Even as I try to sell myself on other prospects I keep going back to da Silva. Stretch 4's are so damn hard to find in this league and the good ones get paid a boat load of money. The guards will be tempting in that 15th spot but da Silva is going to be the right pick. Please pick him Riley.

Seems his stock is on the way up. Decision might be out of our hands, he could be gone.

Dude is automatic. I really like him. Look how quick that shot release is, and it's super effective.
I think this type of sniper/defender combo guard would work really well alongside Jimmy/Bam/Jovic as our main offensive hubs.
