That's about as good a position as he can get on any winning franchise. It wouldn't hurt to have veteran depth. Surely Bosh and Haslem won't play every game, and Howard could give them room to breathe.

He can play Center a little bit. just as long as he isn't guarding dwight, yao, etc etc. As a backup center he can be pretty good.

Agreed plus from what I heard he must've been a very good leader in Portland as well. We don't really need any but I don't what bad characters on this team. There's nothing worse than a bad team chemistry.

Sources say Shaq has a meeting with Riley on Wednesday..

Source: Free agent center Shaquille O'Neal is expected to meet with Heat president Pat Riley on Wednesday. It is unknown if the meeting is to see if interest is there or if both parties are interested. O'Neal would need to sign for the veterans minimum.

Wade will slap him a couple of times as soon as he signed his contract and they'll be fine. He's still a big body which is useful in the playoffs against the Lakers and Magic. So I wouldn't mind having Shaq back in Miami and I never liked the guy and hated him after the comments he made about D-Wade and Quinnie. But again, he can be useful and I'm pretty sure him joining the big three won't help his legacy too much because once again he just went to the best team that wanted him. I don't blame him for it but he shouldn't talk at all anymore.

wallacesports

Cavs free agent center Zydrunas Ilgauskas tells Miami Herald he's "looking into option" of joining buddy LeBron in Miami, likeky at vet min.

This would be a nice score.

Another signing I'd support even though I hate Ilgauskas. He's still one of the better options at center for us though so bring him down here.

If in the end it actually looks something like this, i would be shocked. :o

Fisher - Chalmers - Doolings
Wade - Bell - ?
Bron - Miller - Q
Bosh - Haslem - J Howard
Shaq - Big Z - Anthony

with 5 rooks

Beverly
Dozier
Butler
Varnardo
Heavy D Pittman ( Sorry just what i like to call his fat@$$.)

No way to Shaq coming here. His fat azz can't help but complain once his ego gets bruised. I would think almost getting into a fight with Riley is enough to keep him away from here.

The only good thing is it would mean Riley would have to come back to coach.

"Probably more than anything, the single thing I've learned from Pat, working for him for 15 years, is to think big,'' Spoelstra said. "I mean, every single conversation. It doesn't even have to be about basketball.

"We could be talking about redoing a kitchen or something, and he'll turn it into making it a two-level, state-of-the-art something that's around for 20 years, that type of thing."

I love that quote.

Not my first choice, but not a bad choice. He is big and can defend and rebound. He's just slow :/

Shaq on this team would officially make us the most hated team in the history of human civilization.

I love it.

on a serious note, I don't want Shaq due to his bitter departure from the Heat organization, but for the vet minimum? too tempting. As a masterful business man, I'm sure Riles doesn't hold any grudges.

after Kobe's comment about having 1 more ring than Shaq, you just know Shaq is pleading to be on this team.

Arison said the team's phones have been ringing off the hook with veterans seeking to sign on, even though it would mean taking the veteran's minimum of roughly $1 million for 2010-11.
