If Bosh can't go, I'm leaning towards starting McSob too. I guess. It's been two years since we acquired him and he gave us next to nothing. Third time's the chalm?

Interested in seeing Whiteside/Williams anyway, think they can be interesting together (Real bad or fun)

Williams is such a wildcard. He is young and athletic enough to seduce you with promise but the IQ and perimeter skills are not there. He is a twenner, more of a PF than SF. He attacks the rim and will give you the highlight dunks but unlike when he was in college, he can't draw fouls because he relies mostly in his athletic ability and shows little skill with his offense.

He can either be a HUGE reclamation project if the coaching staff works with him and he finally "gets it" or just continue to be the bust that he's been; a tease of talent with little-to-no substance.

While all of the talk about Williams being a tweeter has merit, the Heat's most success came when we replaced Bosh with Deng at PF. Yes, we played much better with a tweener at PF than we did with our All Star PF.

It's a question of who fits best playing with Dragic and next to Whiteside, Williams might be the guy. We don't need a back to the basket traditional PF.

Truth be told, Derrick Williams played very well next to DeMarcus Cousins in Sacramento during a short stretch before they brought in Rudy Gay. He will flourish next to Whiteside, as he plays in a similar fashion. With Winslow not necessarily stealing touches from Williams in that spot, I'm willing to say he will flourish here.

dwill off the bench

dragic/weber
richardson/johnson/ellington/mcgruder
winslow/johnson/babbitt
mcroberts/williams/haslem/jankovic/white
whiteside/reed

assuming bosh retires and we have to drop one more guy who goes? my bet is on janko or white

This is going to be a tough season. If everything aligns, we are looking at 2014 Boston Celtics-type season. We lack a true go-to scorer like Isiah Thomas with Boston but I believe we have a more talented core as a group with Hassan, Justise, J-Rich, Bosh and Dragic.

I am not high on our free agent additions. Reminds me a lot of our 2014 free agent coup however, I do expect Riley to turn that bulk of salaries in some sort of combination (Eliington $6, McBob $5.8, Williamds $4.5, J. Johnson $4.0 and Babbit $1.2) into a disgruntled player (a la Dragic) in a trade.

I am excited about Briante. If he can only gain some strength and be a more consistent shooter, he's a Pat Beverly clone.

He reminds me of a young Gary Payton. Similar physique, defensive oriented, good ball skills, good court vision. Gary had a better offensive game coming out of college and was taller but very similar prospects.

Obviously Briante is a long ways from ever being close to the glove, but his game reminds me of him.

Talked about having a green light this coming season, making it a year where the whole front office feels comfortable building around him for the future(second time by my count he's alluded to this during the summer) in the absence of Wade, JJ, Deng..Been working on perimeter shooting, ball handing all summer.

Select team stuff, talked about being around Popovich and picking his brain a little bit, says he's learned a lot in a short period of time and seems to be enjoying being around all the top guys.

The knack for steals and defensive disposition is Glove-like for sure, I can see it.

If Bosh retires and Miami Heat signs Danilo Gallinari and Blake Griffin making this the starting lineup. Then combine with 2017 Lotto Pick, Josh Richardson, TJ Johnson, Willie Reed. How far do you think this roster would go?
