Could have always been moved at a later time and Mia could have gotten something in return for him.

Instead he leaves for nothing to your team’s rival.

We offered like double what he ended up getting, he and his agent are the ones that fumbled here and thank God they did.

I've seen people argue that he just wanted to go to Philly to have a chance at a championship. Big no. Players like Martin don't turn down tons of money to play for a championship. That was his time to get paid and his agent fumbled it. He's not a LeBron James who gets defined by legacies and rings.

We shall see. Martin is probably closer to a non factor for both teams. Hes just a guy, not sure he adds many wins to the Sixers.

1. Caleb needs to fire his agent.

2. We were handing out yet another questionable contract but the 4/32 he got from Philly is a steal

3. Going to miss Caleb, his dunks got everyone hype and we don’t make the finals without him stepping up and helping Jimmy/Bam/Spo get us there

4. We have no defenders outside of Bam

5. Pat better be cookin

6. Our rival got better taking our guy again

Maybe he doesn't fit there. Every signing doesn't work out.

The goal is to compete. We want to win championships. If that means the Caleb Martins of the world walking away without compensation, that's fine.

You have to balance the long term with competing for championships as a GM. Just because you are competing doesn't mean you aren't preparing for the following year. He's not a star player. We can find other players to fit his role. That's why you make trades instead of losing him for nothing. It opens the door for bigger moves. Now we have nothing.

The problem with that is if he's a valuable contributer, you can't just trade him for whatever if you are still trying to be good. The stuff you trade him for has to be able to help you in a similar way, otherwise your just getting worse in the short term. Which is what you don't want if you are trying to stay good right NOW.

Spo is going to take his talent away like the Monstars in Space Jam and he won't be the same player.

Caleb discovered that his value on the open market was not as high as he previously thought.
We developed him and placed him on a stage to grab the league's attention, much like we do with a whole bunch of other role players who leave for more money.

He's a versatile player with a lot of heart. I wish him well, but like my momma always said, "No need to cry over spilled milk!"

Forget about him and move on. We need to make some trades and bring in some more pieces

I'd say he got fair value.

Marcus Morris Sr or Jae Crowder for that true backup PF role.

Im more worried that we were offering a contract to Caleb Martin into the 28-29 season.

It's like when people used to sign Patriots players when they had Belichick and Brady. As frustrating as our front office is with the team building and contracts, our coaching staff, development, and system are so strong that role players aren't the same when they leave unless those teams have those too. Most teams don't. And if they do, there is only one Spo in the league.

Caleb’s agent saved our front office from doing something stupid. He was a good soldier though. Wish he could’ve went West.

Mia’s defense is looking like it’s gonna fall completely off a cliff next year the way things are shaping up.

We’ll indeed see how much of a ‘non factor’ his loss is

I think you're overestimating what a team would trade us for half a season of caleb martin who wasn't able to do better than 8M a year on the open market. You can't always trade all your dudes on their last year. Only tanking teams do that and even then they aren't able to trade everyone.
