Let's hope the same doesn't apply to Allen...also with a ring already.

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY!
Camby has said his first choice is to stay in Houston, but the Rockets have extended a three-year, $25 million offer sheet to Chicago free agent center Omer Asik. If the Bulls don't match, that could change their approach with Camby.
The Heat, Mavericks, Knicks and Spurs also hold appeal to Camby, who averaged 4.9 points and 9.0 rebounds in 59 games for Portland and Houston last season.
Camby, 38, does not want to settle for the $1.2 million veteran’s minimum. The Heat is holding onto its $3.1 million mini mid-level exception until it gets some clarity from Allen, who is being courted by Miami and at least six other teams. Jason Terry also appeals to the Heat. But like Allen, Terry can make more by signing elsewhere.

What's the word on MM? Is he retiring? Out for next season? Can we get the disabled player exception and use it on Camby?

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY!
So the Celtics got Jason Terry for their full MLE?
Basically did what the Heat did with Mike Miller, except MM was 30 years old (4 years younger than Terry) and signed 5 years
and Terry is turning 35 in September

Stop being so disrespectful.

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY!
What would represent free agent success for Heat?
by Ethan J. Skolnick
The market is already running away.
This was predictable, even after the lockout that was supposed to restrain spending.
Toronto is reportedly preparing a $12 million per season offer to Steve Nash.
Boston is reportedly ready to give Ray Allen $6 million per season.
Brooklyn will re-sign Gerald Wallace — whose best days appear behind — for four years and $40 million.
And Portland is trying to steal Roy Hibbert from Indiana, by offering the max.
And if Omer Asik is about to get an offer of close to $8 million per from the Rockets, why wouldn’t the more proven Chris Kaman seek a deal for at least that much?
Where does this leave the Heat?
Miami can only dangle one contract of 3 years and roughly $9.2 million. For all the talk of “the title itch,” most players will not take that seriously if some other team is offering twice as much. Allen, for instance, would need to be extremely irritated about something with the Celtics — benched for Avery Bradley, offered in trades last season, dealing with Rajon Rondo regularly — to make that jump.
So it is very possible that the Heat gets shut out of its top targets.

We already are.
