This was always the most likely outcome. Fits really well with them, they have the right contracts to move and Derozan is a Cali west coast guy.

For the right deal, just dumping his salary does nothing.
There isn't really much rush to trade him, it's just different with Jimmy, you won't get anything for him when he walks next year or worse if he gets seriously injured and is on the books next year as well.

Send him for Lavine and acquire and asset or 2 on top of a better player

If they won't re-sign Gary Trent I can't see them being interested in Herro and giving up a pick to boot. Also Scottie Barnes extension kicks in next year + Quickley and Barrett already on the books through 2027 and 2029.

Currently 5.3 million into the 1st apron with 5.4 wiggle room to the 2nd apron. Heat can offer the 5.2 tax payer exception and still be under the 2nd apron. Releasing Orlando gives us 2 more million under.

True but how attractive it is to be on this team. The team wants room flexibility to play the two-way players. The only vets that the Heat will attract at this point are players who are willing to not play and players who cant get a garuantee deal. The Heat are going to want flexibiliy to make end of the bench moves after preseason.
