Finishing up the whole Perkins argument, I think people confuse what Perkins was with who he is now. He WAS a good to great rebounder, good shot blocker and a reasonably competent offensive player. He's pretty much sucked since he blew out his knee in the '10 Finals. That took what little athleticism and quickness he had and gave us the terrible player we see today.

Pretty much. 4-5 years ago, I'd take Perkins over Joel. As of a today, with the way teams play, a mobile big like Joel is way more valuable than an "enforcer"

So many of you are seeing centers who are now washed up as who they were at their peak. Get real.

Joel is much better than most of you give him credit for.

Greenhat actually classed him as elite (lol) I wouldn't be dumb enough to go that far but he does good things as a 12th man on our team and for only 4m.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Joel is good defensively that's it. One dimensional player and is undersized at his position. Jesus Christ

I am a joel fan, but I will never understand why pat gave him as much as he did. I can't think of any team that would have paid him much more than the vet min.

JOEL is a classic Miami heat guy, does what he's told, never complains, never any drama..takes charges, sets screens, does any dirty work, works hard, hardly hear from him during the year...doesn't complain about playing time, doesn't complain about starting or coming off the bench, decent shot blocker, plays Pat Riley old school ewing/Zo(lite) manner..

Of course most of that sh@t matters to him, but he doesn't rock the boat. In a Pat Riley system, these are the OLD SCHOOL guys(BIGS) he wants......

He needs to be all that at a vet minimum, that's his worth. Or maybe 2mil......

I have no idea what the Heat are doing this offseason.
Everybody is getting signed and we still have holes to fill.
It's getting to the point of being too cocky

RT @Jonathan_Feigen: Camby bought out & Mike Miller waived; Rockets have interest in both. Part of strategy shift from prospects to win now

Aaron Brooks is still out there, I believe. He's an elite spot up shooter and is a decent sparkplug off the bench type guy. His defense is terrible, but that's the breaks. Could be had for the minimum.

Damn, was really hoping for Dalembert. Really thought we'd get him this season.

I guess Miami wasn't interested in him though? Considering all DAL can offer is similar to the MMLE...

Yea i guess Pat wasn't intersted. Not sure why, but hopefully it's because he thinks Oden can do what Dally does but better.

Im sure we'll make some kind of move, but at this stage i dont really see anything we can do exept Oden.

Maybe Mo Williams as plan B.

I said it in the locked thread, but I think Cole Aldrich is available. Seems like a minimum type guy but he's young and big so he has at least some promise.

Ugh Dalembert going to the Mavs, and then Mavs trying to get Oden too...

Cavs trying to get Miller. Lol why does the wiretap say how he's a good friend of LeBron, who will be a free agent in 2014? This is getting annoying. Mike I'm sure is great friends with LBJ, but he ain't leaving Wade for him lol.

Man next season will be a huge distraction for LeBron...
