For some reason, every time I watch Tatum playing, the one nickname that comes to my mind is "The Golem". It even sounds kind of nice: Jayson "The Golem" Tatum.

I hope for his sake, the team that drafts him intends to develop Josh at the 2. JJ doesn't look to be physical enough to play the 3, and at 6'8 he'll be able shoot over most SG's and also post them.

I don't worry too much about positions anymore. What's a two these days? Curry and Irving are most definitely shooting guards, or twos, but they are defined as points due to their size. Is it the position they defend? If so, Jackson can lock down backcourt guys and wings alike.

As long as he can iron out that shot, he will be an immense talent. His foundation of basketball skills is super solid. He can do a bit of everything else very well.

I hear ya.

Let's say we get the number one pick and somehow we get the tenth, who would you draft and why? What would your second set of options be?

Hmmph. Would depend who on the want list was still available and what GM's already phucked up but with no knowledge of the former I'd go Fultz, Hartenstein-- seems like a cute couple. Fultz doesn't need to be explained but Harty who hardly plays is a gamble but at 10 I would say phuck the boom-bust potential and go all in. Isaac and Bridges are the only others I think would be there at 10 that I really like and they just don't tip the scale... This changes if Fox is available, I'd go Fultz/Fox and and groom Fultz as a 2 (I primarily see him as a 2 and Fox would probably be best prospect available at 10, so...)

Alternative would be reach for a big and go Bolden, Fultz. Got no problem with reaching at 10 as long as most of the solid prospects are off the board and would love a young big

Fultz is a great start. He fits in the backcourt no matter who's sharing it with him. I'd love to see more from Hartenstein as I really liked the early footage of him. Not much since then. Word is he plays more for himself at this stage, which I don't like. Being a great teammate is a must for me.

I'd go JJ and something like Nutella if he's still there, or Markkanen. JJ and Frank would be deadly on defense. I'd worry about outside shooting though, hence Lauri as an alternate.

As an alternate to JJ, I'd take Fultz and go with the same combos.

I fear that the only way to get a second lotto though would be to deal Hassan. He's worth more than a late lotto though. I think many teams might be glamored by the newness of a draft pick over him in this draft.

I would go Fultz with the first, then have a list of Markkanen, Isaac, Giles and pick whoever of them is left on the board - if all 3 are gone then one of the PGs is left & I would look to pick them & explore trading down for Hartlestein, Rabb, etc. we don't need 2 new guards, we need a legit 1st option and a high quality piece that fits our current youth (Richardson, McGruder, Winslow, Reed, Whiteside).

Edit: I would be very happy with JJ plus one of the PFs. I would be open to trading with Philly if they dropped & JJ was there at 3: 1/10 for 3/7 - we could still grab JJ & have our pick of the PFs.

I'd swap McGruder with TJ in your assessment of our youth.

My thoughts in drafting are that you draft the BPA, unless guys are fairly negligible in talent differential. If a guard falls who is the BPA you take him and worry about it later. Lauri is a significant enough talent with a unique enough skill set to offset any of that if we had another late lotto. I doubt I'd have a guard at that pick range rated high enough to bypass Lauri. However, if a guy like Ball dropped (he won't) for some mysterious reason, then I'm drafting Ball.

I'm also not on the Giles bandwagon. I'd pass on him and wish him the best. If he turned out to be super solid, then I missed, but hopefully the guy I took instead would produce.
