I want Jorts. He's a great fit for the team, the only problem is the P&R defense. Can't say no to a young rebounding big who can stretch the floor though. Plus, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have to worry about motivation/fitness issues with him like we would have to with Darko or Blatche.

What's weird to me is how some people here want Curry back but they wouldn't want Harrellson. That's just plain stupid to me.

Harrellson is definitely not starter material, but he's a good option to have off the bench. The thing that makes him useful is he's a different kind of big than Joel or Pittman, so you have some different options to bring off the bench depending on the matchups.

I don't know his exact height but he's listed at 6-10 and he put up pretty darn good rebounding stats last year so I don't know that size is a major issue for him. He averages 10 rebounds per 36 minutes. And we're talking about a guy who may play 10-15 minutes at the most. He's not a 25-30 minute guy.

If there's one aspect of the game we can teach every big in the league, it's the pick and roll coverage. Harrellson may not have the best lateral quckness to excell at the screen and roll coverage the way Joel does, but as long as he knows where to be at what point, we'll be fine. That's the least of my problems.

It appears that no one wants Andray Blatche.

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-o ... e-d-league
After the party, it's the after-party. After the after-party, it's the hotel lobby. After the hotel lobby, it's the amnesty clause. After the amnesty clause, it's the public relations rehabilitation tour and the desperate plea for a job.

Andray Blatche, an unrestricted free agent forward after the Washington Wizards released him using the amnesty clause earlier this summer, says he is ready to play anywhere, including the NBA's developmental league.

In a lengthy Syracuse.com feature, Blatche cops to some immaturity over the course of his career in Washington and admits to conditioning issues that wound up getting him shut down last season. He says that he's rededicated himself to the sport, losing 14 pounds and working with mentor John Lucas to get his career turned back around.

“My dream destination right now would be back on the court. For real. Just to get back on the court,” he said. “It's something I love to do. It doesn't matter if it's the Heat or the Spurs or the D League. Whatever. As long as I'm back on the court playing ball.

“I mean, I love the game. I'm a fan of the game. I love playing basketball. That's the only thing I've been doing since I've been little. Basketball is something that is very, very important to me.”

Any time a 25-year-old forward two seasons removed from averaging 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds is paid $23 million to not show up for work by a basement-dwelling team that's desperate for improvement, you know bridges were absolutely torched. When that same player clears the amnesty waiver pool and then goes a month without signing any sort of deal, even a veteran's minimum contract, there's little doubt things were even worse behind the scenes than they were in the headlines, which included arrests, punching a teammate, spats with coaches, and the infamous "Lapdance Tuesday" promotion.

Paying his dues in the D-League wouldn't be the worst idea at this point. With 5-to-10 potential years of basketball left and with salary already coming his way thanks to Washington's amnesty, Blatche needs to move deliberately here, finding positive environments where he can turn the attention of NBA decision-makers back to the merits of his game rather than his lengthy list of off-court exploits.

Blatche showed that he was completely incapable of handling leadership responsibilities in Washington and the Wizards' losing ways likely made it harder for him to remain focused on his game, as climbing out of the lottery with such a young, immature and disjointed roster of teammates probably felt like an impossible task.

If Blatche is going to succeed in creating a second chapter for himself, it will likely need to come on a veteran-dominated, playoff-bound team where he can play a specific role as a productive reserve. No real pressure, no real responsibilities, no real expectations. That's the realistic end goal. Who knows if he will make it there.

Jorts flat-out sucks. Do not want. Blatche? No one better exemplifies a locker room cancer than that herb. Darko? The guy's got something wrong with his head. There's a reason he's still available and never amounted to anything despite being a #2 pick.

It's like picking the last scraps of meat from the bone. Sure, you think you might get something tasty, but it's always a wasted endeavor. It's like our only choices are either turd sandwiches or douchebags. I'm ready to pick 2 guys from Harris, Viney and Varnado, at this point. PEACE.

I'd rather go Harris/Dozier if we're going all-youngster. Just take the best, most versatile players. I standby my assertion that Dozier would look quite nice next to our rotation players.

For those wondering, Harrellson is 6-8.5 barefoot, so 6-10 is spot on for his NBA (in shoes) listing.

Seeing on the wiretap Derrick Favors wants more minutes. The only way to make that happen is to buy out Al Jefferson so we can snatch him up. Get it done, Riles!

I don't think he was that serious about it in the first place. Just buying a good player out because another guy demands more playing time is stupid, let alone the fact that he would sign here for the minimum.

No thanks to Harris or Viney. Wasn't impressed at all by either of them in Summer League. Viney isn't a good fit at all, undersized for PF, doesn't rebound well and doesn't look quick enough to guard 3's. He shoots the 3 ball well, but we already have enough guys who can do that. I've never really been impressed by Harris all that much, very shaky handle and not a great shooter. It's not good when the first thing I think of when I remember Harris last season was him pulling down like 15 boards against Atlanta. I wouldn't mind Varnado but I'd much prefer Harrellson.

K-Mart would be good, but he said he wouldn't take the minimum.

Yeah the Jefferson thing was a joke. I don't think him taking the minimum after a buyout is ridiculous, but hard to see him bought out even though he's expriring.

Ad Viney is 6-5. He's undersized for a SMALL forward.

Just googled Viney's height, said he's 6'8.

Interesting. I don't remember where I originally read 6-5, but I just checked draftexpress.com and they have him at 6-5. Everywhere else seems to say 6-8, though.

I know there was some confusion as to whether Harrellson was coming down to Miami to work out for the Heat or just to work out, looks like we may have a better idea...

Josh Harrellson ‏@BigJorts55
Miami!!! Ready to impress!

Unless he's just talking about impressing the ladies on South Beach
