I don't think LBJ should ever take anymore pay cuts to play basketball

I don't see anything wrong with it, if taking a pay cut increases his chances of winning more rings(getting better players around him) he will more than makeup the money in endorsements and overseas.

Remember that time that Dalembert signed with the Rockets because it was for more money and thought he was going to be a starter, then he was placed on the bench and got traded to a team that didn't even play him. Then he acted as if he had learnt from his mistake that if you sign with crap teams you'll likely never finish your contract playing the role or with the team you signed for. Does he think Dallas won't trade him first chance they get? He could be traded to the Bobcats or Toronto for all he knows.

At least with Miami he knows he won't be traded because we've desperately needed a center for quite a while now. He'll either be a starter playing 30 minutes, or a bench guy playing 20 minutes.

He might not be a moron, perhaps Riley has never offered him a contract and was happy with the Bosh/Birdman combo, with Oden having massive upside and potential to be our starter down the line.

Either we didn't offer him a contract, or he's a liar. Why would he have chosen Dallas if we offered him the mmle.
It’s up to them and seeing what’s going to be out there. But at this point you want to be with a contending team. You don’t want to go backwards, so you want to chase that promised land.’

I'm guessing DAL will use the rest of their space on Dally.

They should only have the 2.5m exception to sign Oden.

Also like the idea of picking up Aldrich. He's a big body that can rebound, and I'd rather have him as a "project" than Varnado.

No panic in not getting Dalembert or Oden, but yeah, that effectively dries up a major upgrade at center - Birdman is as good as anything left. I'd now say we'll be looking to win with small ball and trades again, every other team is putting together huge bullying lineups though, so we'd want to be significantly better than them if we can't match up.

I too would prefer to start our guys at their proper positions Bird/Bosh/Bron/Wade/Chalmers, when we face big teams, too many early deficits, clawed back with traditional lineups.

Offseason is quickly becoming a failure for Miami. Almost similar to 07 when they went into the season with almost same roster, and got bounced early in playoofs.

Heatin4 says Heat just need a Big and a Bench Scorer/ Facilitator to replace Miller. Thats about it.

I think rashard Lewis can give us everything Mike did. But with less breaking.

We do need a legit 7 foot banger tho.

Source told me Miami, Houston, Chicago and LAC are after Camby. Meetings will be after buyout. #Knicks can't sign b/c of CBA trade rules.

Camby+Oden+?

All we need is one of them to be ready during the playoffs 8-)

oden would be foolish to reject pelicans offer. offering him probably double the money we can get him. for someone who is at risk to tear a knee again at any moment and never play again for sure itd be a smart move.
camby is an instant upgrade over juwan howard. id also like for this team to take a look at stephen jackson. hes a 3 and d type guy. people say he is a headcase but when on a winning team he has been a solid beteran. idk why spurs cut him at the end of the season. guess he wanted more playing time and pop wasnt budging

Bosh/Birdman/Camby/Joel
Haslem/Lewis/Varnado
LeBron/Battier/Jackson/Jones
Wade/Allen
Chalmers/Cole

We once had him. It didn't work out that well. There's a reason he's a journeyman. Plus, he probably wants more minutes than he can get here.

Spurs cut him because Danny Green was better than him.

Stephen Jackson was subbpar shooting and has been subpar for the past 3 seasons from 3 shooting below 35 percent.

Jackson never been an elite 3 point shooter, just a streaky one, he never shot 37 percent from three in his career and only shot 36 percent from three 2 times. He wouldn't be much good on the Heat as a shooter.

Maybe as a ballhandler and a defender he would be good, but three...it would be ugly.

Better off just playing James Jones.

Dorrell Wright was good for the Heat, they just let him go and he signed with GSW and dropped 16 points 4 rebounds 3 assists and 1.5 steals a playing 38 mins a game while averaging 6 attempts from 3 and converting %37.8 .

Dorrell Wright is a journeyman because he's just an athletic high volume three point shooter with decent ball skills and teams had more dynamic players to play. GSW had Klay Thompson in 2011-2012 while having Brandon Rush (the better shooter and defender) and Dorrell Wright so they just let Wright go.

Dorrell Wright would get around 20 mins on this team. He played well for 76ers and his second season in GSW, playing below 30 mins a game.

avg 24 mins 9.7 points, 4 rebounds, 1.9 assists while shooting 4 threes a game on %36.8 shooting.

Except a larger expiring contract next year that we could trade

Joel is much better than most of you give him credit for.

Greenhat actually classed him as elite (lol) I wouldn't be dumb enough to go that far but he does good things as a 12th man on our team and for only 4m.

Yes I "classed" Joel an an elite defender. Which he is.

Also never sell yourself short on how far your dumbness can take you.
