That is very true, Howard and I were discussing it earlier. He was asking what all the influx of Kaminsky pics were about. I told him that Rex is a huge fan of both the Admiral and Frank the tank.

Both are two of the best bigs the league has ever seen.

While I'm fine with Rex supporting his favorite college player on other NBA team (our rival team even :noway: ), he's been showing off his avi and sig by sneak double/triple posting QUIZ :wavefinger:

I gotta agree here. Celtics are not a better team than us. They just show far more fire & determination. Hunger is the only difference between Boston & Miami. What we do have over them in the playoffs are battle tested veterans, who i predict will show far more passion in the post season than they have all reg season. Also, and spite of my criticisms, we have a coach that has alot of PO's & finals experience. I don't care who we face in the 1st round, i think we take down wich ever team it is.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Crazy stuff, it's all mental with him.

And shot selection.

If he a good BB IQ he would be a better JJ Redick

It's as simple as that really w/ Green. He takes ill advised shots (JR Smith) If he could just grow a few more brain cells he would be thriving off the bench and he would make our bench even more dangerous. Shame.

so if we cant beat the celtics, but we can beat the cavs and the celtics lose to the cavs we should not avoid celtics in round 1?

disagree.

We can beat the celtics.

But if we can't and we get them then we deserve to lose.

6-3

Prob good for 4th or 3rd in the East.

I'm 2 for 1 so far.

Wade should be back vs Detroit.

4-2 so far.

I have us going 1-1 vs Orlando so i expect a revenge win in our next match up.

HIF, your dislike for Dragic is a bit strong at times, but you do raise an interesting point: Is he the future point guard?? I believe he will figure out how to become better in the half-court, since he hasn't been asked to do it before. However, we the backcourt being so crowded now, makes you wonder if they're getting insurance for him just in case he doesn't become what they hoped for.

good. happy we are signing one of the kids from sioux falls. shows them that if they work hard they can get to the next level. also looks like we learned our lesson on the 2 year deal from whiteside.

Think we'll go 2-1 (lose to Celtics) the rest of the way. Don't think we make it past the 2nd round. Will be hard for this group to win on the road.

our playoff success will come down to turnovers and jump shots. if we turn it over and cant hit our jumpers we wont go far. if jrich can stay hot, jj makes his 3's ad deng and wade stay smart with their shot selection anything can happen, but tall task

What? We never had the opportunity to sign Hassan to a 3 year deal. We are signing Weber in his first year. Hassan played for Sacramento beforehand for two years. We had to sign him to a longer deal in cap space (which wasn't available). A minimum contract was all we could offer and those are limited to two years.

I'll be disappointed with a 2nd round out now. I'm ready for whatever comes, but I have champagne ready just in case.

Could you post more? Your sig was really annoying for a while, but it's winning me over with all the hearts. I feel all warm and fuzzy. Is it that way with you?

I haven't seen you on the general board lately. What's up with that?

You can find the details here:

http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q25

Search for "MINIMUM PLAYER SALARY EXCEPTION". (If you don't sign in cap space, you must sign with an exception: Bird, Early Bird, MLE, BAE, etc - Minimum is just another exception used to sign (usually) veterans like Hassan.)

MINIMUM PLAYER SALARY EXCEPTION -- Teams can offer players minimum salary contracts even if they are over the cap. Contracts can be up to two years in length. For two-year contracts, the second season salary is the minimum salary for that season. The contract may not contain a bonus of any kind. This exception can also be used to acquire minimum salary players via trade. There is no limit to the number of players that can be signed or acquired using this exception.

This exception begins to reduce in value after the first day of the season. For example, if there are 170 days in the season, then this exception reduces in value by 1/170 of its initial value each day. So if a team signs a minimum salary player 90 days into the season, it can pay the player only 80/170 of the minimum salary.

See question number 86 for more information on how minimum salary players are handled in trade.

We used our entire MLE on Josh McRoberts and our BAE on Danny Granger, so we only had minimum exceptions left for players without bird rights.
