The infamous letter was taken down on July 6, 2014. I'm using the Wayback machine and it has saved the page of said letter almost every day from July 2010, up until July 6, 2014 (from July 7 onwards, it just links to the Cavs homepage)

The Cavs had some rep say that the letter was taken down years ago and that it was just some archive that wasn't directly accessible that they missed (I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist). Only problem is that's a baldfaced lie, for the letter was still accessible to anyone through the original web address. In other words, the letter wasn't taken down till a few days ago and the Cavs tried to save face by claiming incompetence.

We didn't need chris to post that to know lebron still feels a way about the letter

Oh yeah? You personally talked to Lebron and know his feelings? I am pretty sure Gilbert has apologized about that letter long ago, I'm also sure Lebron has been in contact with Cleveland for a while now, if you don't think so and are just basing everything off random guessing reports then you're delusional.

If Lebron is second guessing his decision to go to Cleveland, it's about his shot at competing for championships, not a stupid letter that was written out of anger by a jealous owner that lost.

Exactly. The people that say he should get over the letter need to come down from their ivy tower. Not too many people would go back to someone who publicly said the things Dan Gilbert said in that letter.

He sh** on his home state during a live telecast. He deserved the letter. Some Heat fans are so one sided & detached from reality.

And don't give me the good ole' "don't come to a heat board" sh** excuse

He didn't **** on anyone. He decided to leave. He didn't bad mouth Cleveland, their fans or the organization. Saying you got **** on because someone didn't choose you is just low self esteem. And you guys are showing it all over again

Lebron made it seem like he would stay in CLE and then he waits until basically the last minute to inform the world that he's going to leave as the Cavs are left with nothing in return. He **** on Cleveland on national television, a city which up to that point had given him nothing but praise and love. He talked about loyalty and stopping at nothing to bring us a championship but instead opted to take the easier road to championships by teaming up with 2 of the best players in the league. And then the very next day, he puts on a whole parade at the welcome party celebrating as if he's already won a championship.

Dan Gilbert's letter was necessary at the time and Cleveland (as well as many other fan bases) rallied around him. It's easy to forget what Lebron did and point the finger at Gilbert now but IMO both of them screwed up.

Nevertheless, I put aside any hatred for Lebron long ago and I want him back. And I truly believe he's coming back to the Cavs. There's just too many signs pointing to his return.

Why are we so cocky?

The dude spent 3 days with wade and hasn't signed yet.

Tread lightly. Expect the worst. Hope for the best.

this i can buy

from brousard article
While league executives wait for James to make his announcement, many refuse to believe he'll return to Cleveland to play for Gilbert. Some even believe it would be hypocritical after how powerfully James spoke out against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling after racist comments by Sterling were made public in May.

You're going to need a source (that doesn't originate from Cleveland) to convince us.

Not convinced.

Serious question and I'm just curious.... IF Lebron does go to Cavs will Heat fans turn on Wade for playing with everyone's emotions with hanging out with Lebron this past week IF he already knew his choice?? Thanks for your input!
