Well, King David, you have a point - but maybe we can be in the playoffs by 2019 with a better team than Rudy Gay and co.
What do you suggest short of straddling between 8th and being left out off the playoffs completely. The Heat have become an irrelevant team that cannot lure the free agents that Pat Riley tries to get. Just my thoughts - hope I'm wrong.

Nothing was to lure though. Utah/Boston were much bigger targets for Hayward than Miami. Heck we got a meeting with him as well with LMA/Durant last off-season. Other teams would do anything just to land meeting with top free agents. For LMA - Spurs was the easier pick, Durant - GSW and now Gordan with Boston.

HeatWillRise - I really like your avatar. ....and I really don't like having meetings that don't amount to much. At some point Riley has to
remember that ALL his championships were won with players that each winning team drafted...I wish Riley would take a page out of Jerry West's book of team building.

after Miami missed out on Hayward, I dont think signing Waiters and JJ will help the team contend for the top in the east. A playoff birth, yes..

I'll rather see the Heat sign JJ and Waiters for a one year contract, trade Tyler to have a big amount of cap space next year. Because like I said, JJ and Waiters will not get this team over the hump. This team should be built thru adding a big name free agent that can make a difference, and trades. But the latter option is hard to make, considering the lack of assets and draft picks.

JJ and Adebayo is plenty for me ATM at one of the forward spots.

LMA is not interesting in the slightest to me at this point.

Thanks I like your username.

But I get that, but it goes to show how reputable Riley is around the league to land such meetings. He striked out on really obvious ones that didnt work, but him trying is what makes him an excellent GM.

If we are talking to the Spurs give them Dragic, TJ, Winslow, Josh Richardson, McBob some sort of combo not including Whiteside for Kawhi Leonard.

HeatWillRise - I agree with you that Pat Riley has been essential to the Heat winning three championships ....but I wish he'd remember that all the championships he ever won were won with winning teams that had stars acquired through the draft. I wish he'd remember to take a page from Jerry West's book of team building now and then. ...yeah...that's quite a user name I have although it hardly rises to the movie version of Bret Easton Ellis' masterpiece. .
