I'm wondering... was the Hornets signing of Hayward a good move, I'm starting to think it was even at his price, are they going to be able to sign someone better than Hayward in the next 4 years while developing LaMelo, Washington, Bridges, Graham... I doubt it.
For starters, yes, Charlotte did overpay to get a very good player to their team.
Looking a little deeper at Hayward's stats, I decided to look at what he did when Tatum wasn't playing last season meaning he moved up as an offensive option for Boston that particular game.
This last season without Tatum.
vs Orlando
22 pts, 14 reb, 5 asts
vs New Orleans
23-6-2
vs Miami
29-9-1
Another game he only played 17 minutes so not a good measuring stick unless you want to say he's injury prone.
Also taking in consideration that he'll be even further away from that horrific injury and with that, gaining confidence in his game again, especially after having tons of money thrown at him.
Hayward may be a steal as a fantasy player.
