They needs to stay on Jokic and be PHYSICAL, make it unconfortable for him to shot or try to drive to the basket. We can not allow Jokic to get the ball near the basket and have a smaller player on him. That is too easy for him. This will also allow us to rebound better and will allow Bam to guard Gordon.
In addition to being physical, the way to beat him is to go at him on the other end. It can't just be something where we do it once or twice, don't get a call and then flail your arms and pout. There has to be a consistent, methodical assault on the painted area. We should be aiming for his first defensive foul in the first 5 minutes of the game. Less jumpers Bam, put the ball on the floor and go
at him. Same with Jimmy, he averaged 9 FT attempts per game this postseason, he's at 3.5 vs. Denver. It's not enough, Jokic right now is happy as a pig in **** because he gets to expend all his energy on offense. Make him work on defense and watch some of those shots start falling short. Get a quick foul on him and watch how quickly you can bait him into another.
