We sucked so bad last year, they probable didn't think anything we did would have helped, so they just let it be, then we had that crazy playoff run. This year if were playing good the hope is perhaps they finally try and bolster something to go for it one last time with this group. I really think this is the last run for this group. Bam isn't going anywhere, and Jimmy if he performs to par once again in the playoffs looking dominant would also remain, but the other guys, I believe there would be an overhaul for sure.

We were 32-27 at the all star break last season. Not great but hardly sucking. I assume Pat didn't make a move because there were no deals to be made that he liked.

Yeah the record there is a bit misleading, it took us 10 games this year to be 2 games over .500.

However last year it wasn't until middle of January that we were 2 games over .500 so just looking at where we were by then is a bit misleading. We sucked for 3 straight months and didn't start threading water until closer to the trade deadline that should say a lot to our outlook. Miami's record at the end of December of 2022 was 17-18. we couldn't get out of .500 ball if our life depended on it, and this forum was all about the tank....yall forget too quickly how horrid last year was for this team.

This forum is always about the tank. Just last week people were talking about trading away Jimmy.

Bulls exec, I mean "nba exec", want to offload players and people back on the fantasy gm train for Caruso

LaVine and Caruso will both end up on the Lakers. Nothing to see here. Rest assured Klutch is working on getting LaVine to LA his desired location.

Not a pure Point Guard, but I'd check the price tag for Colin Sexton-- I still like the idea of him at least

I actually watched a bit of that Utah game tonight mainly because I'm pretty sure I got hypnotized by their purple floor. Sexton looked good to me. He filled up the statsheet and had 7 assists. He's definitely not a pure PG but the Heat might not even need that with Jimmy, Bam, type ball movers on this team. I think both Sexton and Olynyk would be nice adds to the Heat bench depending on the cost of course. Danny Ainge isn't the easiest guy to deal with though.

I think we mostly need a backup PG that can score a bit and settle the team. Lowry is fine with the starting unit because you have a lot of scoring there. If we get a scoring starting PG for Lowry+fillers+picks how do distribute the shots within the starting lineup? You have that PG , Herro, Jimmy , Bam. Its too much.

Honestly if we get Herro and Caleb back and 100% we are more than fine. We need to find a suitable rotation and we are good.

PG - Lowry 18mpg / Richardson / 20mpg / Herro 10 mpg
SG - Herro 24mpg / Robinson 24mpg
SF - Butler 32mpg / JJJ 16mpg
PF - Highsmith 22mpg / Caleb 22mpg / JJJ 4mpg
C - Bam 36mpg / Love 12mpg

I would love more minutes for JJJ but i really donno where to find them

This seems like a very reasonable rotation.
Could also give the Love minutes to Jovic, it's difficult to imagine that Jovic would do much worse.

Ainge and on top of that Sexton is with Klutch.

I have to say, I love this team. J-Rich and Jaquez, along with the emergence of Haywood Highsmith, has been huge for us. Obviously, Bam's development has been massive as well, but our depth and the ability to constantly replenish it out of nowhere just constantly amazes me.

Dinwiddie with 29-5-9 last night. Would love to get him here, beat them tomorrow and push them further down the standings.

Caruso Dinwiddie and DFS added to this team would work wonders. Add elite defense, good 3 point shooting, and a good scoring punch. Could put us over the top

Jimmy is now shooting 50% from 3 on 2 attempts a night. I’d like to see 38%+ on 4 attempts. That will help his longevity

Dinwiddie and O’Neale

Tyus Jones, Wright, and Gallo

Couple of trades that work in the checker using Lowry’s contract that don’t add money to our sheet next year.

Caruso and Williams

for

Robinson, Jovic, and protected pick

In this deal for salary match purposes Robinson has to be involved going back. Caruso has an extra year on deal at only 9 million. Williams is a free agent but we’ll have his bird rights and Lowry’s deal coming off the books still.

Repetition, and last years playoffs proved that that he is getting better at it.

I'm guessing this is why Bam is still shy to let the 3s fly. Developing new skills takes much more work and time than I initially thought. It was probably there for Duncan, but not at a polished NBA professional level.

I was one of the goofs saying he should stick to shooting 3s. Clearly he and the staff know what they're doing.

I mean, look at Bam. He's glorious. I didn't see this coming when we drafted him. But it took YEARS.

I just want to reference something. We never thought Bam would never achieve this type of level on the offensive side, we always knew he had really high ceiling on the defensive side of the game.

The type of offensive efficiency and scoring he is heading into is all time greats for big man.
Kevin Garnetts best statistical season 1999-2000 in Mini:
22.9pts 11.8rbs 5ast while playing 40 minutes a game.

Tim Duncans best statistical season 2001-2002 in San Antonio:
25.5pts 12.7rbs 3.7ast while playing 40.6 minutes a game.

Paul Gasol best statistical season 2006-2007 in Memphis:
20.8pts 9.8rbs 3.4ast while playing 36.2 minutes a game.

Those guys had similar games in regards that they were noted for being good to great on defense in their prime and even in their later years, had great mid range game early on and then grew into a serviceable 3pt shot. Averaged 50%FG at the rim and Had amazing court awareness, and great passing instincts with a very good back to the basket game along with footwork. Also had the advantage of being 7ft on the court.

Bam at 6'-9" this year on the Miami Heat:
23.3pts 10.4rbs 3.8ast while playing 34 minutes a game at only 25 years old, if he continues his uptick in stats and improvements what will he look like 2-3 years from now entering his 28-29 year old peak prime.

Bams footwork is just starting to come together and looking better, his reaction to the game on the scoring side, and his jumper keeps evolving.
