GSW falling out of the standings may be keeping them from making the move.

We are not going to gamble on Zion unless he’s free. What might happen is Ingram sent here but even that seems out of the question cause he wants Butler’s 50 million. We don’t want to swap Butler’s contract for another 50 million. We want out of the tax by a good margin. They’ll use the expiring of Rozier and Duncan next year for someone that comes open.

I would accept salary cap relief at this point with nothing added. Give me Ben Simmons and filler and you've got a deal.

We could sit Jimmy, but that's going to be an ugly look. Better to just be done with it today.

I legit was just looking at that exact trade. Ben Simmons and DLo and give them Duncan and Jimmy and call it a day at this point. Idk if that even works but both those guys are expiring as well.

But why would the Nets do that? They are tanking this year because they own their own draft pick. If they win the lottery, maybe they can have some interest and just use the capspace they have to absorb him and we get out of the tax, but thats assuming they win the lottery. No reason to trade for him now.

Like contract was saying. I was just looking for the biggest expiring. But Brooklyn is closer to the play in than they are to the 1st pick right now. Not saying it makes sense for them either way lol

It’s still very very early and the players being sent out is kinda a no lose situation for them. They kinda owe it to there vets if this is there

I am completely shocked Jimmy actually made a stink today. Miami is the one place, after moving around organisations, that helped him purify his character‘s reputation, while the world criticised him. We helped him be understood & he was able to feel rectified & embraced. Furthermore his approach to the game fit perfectly w/ the Culture Riley built here further allowing him to feel completely accepted, comfortable & understood. In turn he was able to provide us his very best years. That last run to the finals was amazing, for me way more thrilling than anything the Big-3 did. It’s even as far as I’m concerned. So I’m not too pleased w/ Jimmy making it ugly, especially after half hearted performance last 2 gm’s.

As w/ all things I’m certain this will be water under the bridge in several yrs as Jimmy was loved/appreciated here & still is by some, including myself. This is way less worse than Lebron’s deceit & deception. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Butler’s performance here. His gritty competitiveness is highly respected & appreciated in todays soft climate in the league. But it’s time to bid him farewell & move on.

Thanks Jimmy. I do hope you win a ring. But keep ya mouth shut on the way out.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

If we can extract at least 1 first from GSW we’ll be able to field a competitive offer in the summer using Rozier and Duncan expiring contracts.

The whole FO failed Jimmy narrative is played out to me,

They had a squad in the bubble and ppl got hurt.
They signed his boy Lowry.
They knew the new CBA was gonna be BS so they couldnt sign EVERYONE and be under tax.
Supposedly they let Jimmy do things that they DID NOT LET LEBRON do. Now im not an insider, but if that is true.

Id feel like Jimmy need to shut up and play too.

batterybro42 wrote:I think one of the things that is lost is Spo wants to change the scheme and offense and it’s just not compatible with our personal. This team is constructed for a different style of ball, one that currently isn’t winning in the NBA or sustainable. Spo wants us 5 out and shooting a ton of 3s. It’s why they tried to make Bam shooting 3s work. It’s why Tyler Herro is balling out, it’s because he’s a fit in this.

Miami has to make decisions, because right now I can tell you Bam is a weird fit in this and Ware is showing some promise in a way that can make that fit very awkward for everybody. Bam can’t play the 4 in that style of ball if he can’t shoot.

The question becomes what can you get for Bam? Miami has a lot of options that are going to be open for them in around 18 months a super team type build becomes extremely possible for them that type of flexibility and opportunity hasn’t existed here since 2010

If Miami is in a situation with Spo as the Coach a sizable amount of young players and assets along with the ability to add 3 max players I don’t think there will be a shortage of players looking to take that opportunity. Need to find out if Herro/Bam will be part of that. Herro is looking the part to me, but he’s going to need to wait on the extension.

It’s absolutely critical for us to see Bam and Ware play together to see how they fit. IDK what Spo is waiting for.

Look for teams with expendable vets on expiring contracts.

They can keep Kuminga and Podz, this is a type of deal we need. Expiring vets, a good role player and picks

You realize we're on the same page as the front office. Their #1 priority is letting Jimmy's contract just expire this offseason. We see it as you can't keep him on the team after this so you might as well trade him for expiring contracts. Accomplishes the same thing with out the drama. Trying to find some magical trade for some young superstar is unrealistic plus would require actual assets we do not have. Best time to make that type of move was last off season before all the apron stuff.

Atlanta has like $35M in expiring and picks. Wonder if they’d like to go for it with Trae Jalen Daniels hunter Jimmy etc.

I have Golden State as the leader of the pack right now. They can get a deal done without Kuminga with Wiggins as the headliner. Swapping Wiggins for Butler assures us a good playoff spot.
