https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45515293/sources-durant-prefers-land-heat-spurs-rockets

Durant, who turns 37 in September, made his 15th All-Star team this season and averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 62 games. The future Hall of Famer has averaged at least 25 points, 50% shooting and 40% on 3-pointers in three straight seasons, the longest streak ever in the NBA, according to ESPN Research. As a shooter, Durant remains prolific: He shot an NBA-best on jumpers (49.7%) and midrange shots (53.1%). He also had the best shooting percentage on off-the-dribble jumpers (50.9%), according to GeniusIQ.

Would love to see how Spo would utilize KD. Would be lots of post ups and initiations out of the high post presumably.

Neither can shed money and they don’t want to part with assets pretty much

Neither can help PHX shed money you mean? Suns can get out of the 2nd apron themselves by selling off on Allen and Royce. All Hou/SA have to do is match salaries and add an extra pick out of their unlimited arsenal and that would basically beat Miami if we arent offering Ware or more than 1 first.

They have to shed assets to get someone to eat those contracts though, if they get Duncan they can instantly cut him and save like $10M off the bat.

All the insider douche bags in unison like O’Conner and others basically saying the Suns shouldn’t honor Durant’s request is like phucking clock work cause Heat are involved. Watch Blowe, Simmons, and that fat turd with the glasses that i can’t remember his name right now all say the Suns need to do what’s best for them. Put these a holes out of business

Spurs need to just sit back and wait on Giannis. Let us have this one

Probably similar to Lillard. Which ended up being false confidence.

Will believe it when I see it, Daff.

This is where I stand. If we do really acquire KD I'm very interested to see what other pieces we bring in. I know he won't be the only piece added. I'm not expecting another big name but what key role players they'll target.

Pat Riley can’t strike out twice like that. He would give up Ware before leaving empty handed.

Quite a clear situation:

- Suns not happy with the Heat offer and want more
- Heat not willing to pay more

Looks like Dame, but this is different, because KD is on an expiring.
Lets hope this goes through with smth. like Wiggins/Terry/#20/Jaquez, almost all the scraps I barely care for ;)
Realistically it's probably a bit more but we'll see.

My prediction is, the Suns will slow down trade talks if they dont get the amount of picks and correct expirings to match Durant’s expirings..

The GM can slow all the way down to the trade deadline and get a desperate team that thinks Durant is the missing piece to trade with..

Dark horse teams that Durant probably never considered going to like the Magic or the pistons have an abundance of assets to trade. Thats what the Suns want.

Weve been in this situation before tho where we have massively overpaid for a player to come here.. i just want the Heat not to do something so blatantly stupid for a 37 year old basketball player.

Im trading every bad contract weve got, which is wiggins and kyle, dumcan robinson and ill budge with the 20th pick and add it to the package… thats it

The Spurs need to sit back and let Wemby develop before they add any star veteran pieces. Bringing in a veteran star is going to stunt his growth. The only good reason for the Spurs to trade for a veteran star at this point is if they think Wemby won't hold up physically going forward or believe he's hit his ceiling.

The big issue is even if an "outsider" team wanted to make a better offer, Durant may not sign an extension with them, play out the year, and leave. Unless Durant agrees to sign an extension, teams are not going to make massive offers for a 1-year rental. Durant got out ahead of this by leaking he'd only sign extensions with Houston, San Antonio, and Miami.
