I don't understand why the NBA decided to measure players with shoes. Everyone else in the real world measures themselves without shoes.

I agree but I guess that extra inch and a half makes them giants amongst giants.

Very encouraging results...that wingspan, strength and standing reach will allow Beasley to play PF... he has great hands too, theres no test for that, but thats probably more important..look at Kwane, if he could catch he would actually be decent.

People were making too much a big deal of Rose being "the tallest PG in the league"..as if that matters....Rose's results are fine, somewhat expected.

Well, in all fairness, size is more than just the heigth of a player. You look at the whole package (weigth, strenght etc). and Rose still would be a PG with good size. Maybe not 6'4 or 6'3 but strong enough to drive to the hole and not allow contact to derail him.

IMO both Rose and Beasley measured very well. Add their countless talent and you have yourself a special player. I don't understand the fuzz one way or the other...

So Beasly is 6'7 W/O shoes.

Why didn't he wear Julian Wright's specially made NBA predraft 2 inch shoes. That would've made him 6'9.

Julian Wright 6' 6.5" 6' 8.5" (from last year)

THE NBA is SUCH a joke.

I think most of you are forgetting that they are 20 and under. More then likely you will see them grow a inch or 2 (D-Wright). Both Players were measured below what must wanted, but who cares. Last time i checked You have to score and play defense,If measurements were everything then Shawn Bradley should of been a Stud. Beasley and Rose will be great in the NBA. I hate combines!!! Hate! Who care what you do in a Combine! It looks like Robin lopez is better then Brook does it mean to Take Robin 3 overall over Brook?

:rocking: I really hope so, but Beasley will be hard for Chicago to pass up. And I agree at 19 he could easily grow more. But with his standing reach and strength numbers I think the talk of if he can play PF should be over.

Umm...when was the last time an NBA player played the game barefoot?

If anything, measuring a player without shoes is pointless.

Beasley and Wade or Rose and Wade will be a great 1-2 punch in the league. What drives me crazy is when i see posts about the Heat bypassing both of these prime time players to move down and get another player(ESPN Chad Ford's with his man crush on Mayo). When did Mayo show he is as good as Rose and Beasley? When he shot 30% against Memphis or maybe it was his craptastic games against UCLA shooting 37 and 41% with 6 to combined. Or when he showed up Beasley in the tournament by shooting 38% with 3 to.

Beasley is going to be fine at PF. If you compare him to Darrell PF Kansas Arthur who is a top 10-15 prospect , Beasley is .25in (1/4in) shorter than Arthur but he has longer wingspan and standing reach.

Beasley is 19 years old and already shows great strength but still has the ability to grow.

Then when you take into account his hand size(very big), how skilled and athletic he is, then it just gets scary.

Am a bit leery about Beasley's size, he is the closest to Haslem, Haslem gets his numbers on pure hustle, and he has hard time some nights vs some guys, those that say Elton Brand, he has a 7 5 wingspan from reports, and the guy is bigger to add, Boozer has a around 30 pound advantage to add
I'm too lazy to post all measurements, but here are some of the PFs of the past drafts:

Beasley: 6'7 in socks, 7' 1/4 wingspan, 8'11 standing reach, 35'' vertical

Horford: 6'8 3/4, 7' 3/4, 8'11, 35''
Tyrus: 6'7 1/4, 7'3, 9'0, 39.5''
Jefferson: 6'8 1/4, 7'2 1/2, 9'2, 30''
Okafor: 6'9 3/4, 7'4, 9'2 1/2, 34''
Bosh: 6'10 1/4, 7'3 1/2, 9'1, 33''
West: 6'8 1/4, 7'4 1/4, 9'0 1/2, 31.5''
Haslem: 6'6 3/4, 6' 10, 8' 10, N/A
Stoudemire: 6'8 1/2, 7'1 3/4, 9'0 1/2, N/A
Wilcox: 6'8 1/4, 7'1, 8'11 1/2
Boozer: 6'7 3/4, 7'2 1/4, 9'1 1/2, N/A
Fizer: 6'7 1/2, 7'0, 9'0, N/A
Swift: 6'9 1/2, 7'2 1/2, 9'2

Brand is around 6'8 in socks and has freakish length (he allegedly has bigger standing reach than Kaman, who's at 9'2 1/2).

that looks pretty encouraging actually having the same standing reach as some guys that are starting PFs like Horford(played Center), Wicox...hes as strong as Horford on the reps...hes quicker than most of these guys.....big hands, body balance on contact...

PF is his position...we can go big and put him at SF at times.

Many Heat fans seem to believe, everything Pat Tells the media is a smokescreen and the complete opposite of what he really means.

Another thing, am not Pat Riley that has to sell season tickets, am a fan with my own opinion, am not that easily brainwash as most casual sheep.

Beasley has the same standing reach as Al Horford and Joakim Noah, two guys who played center this year. Should they move to SF too? Is Al Horford a bust?

And a reminder CoolD, which I will place after every one of your Beasley-bash and Rose-love posts ... We have the #2 pick so we don't have a choice between Rose and Beasley. We can only take who's left. The argument's over

This is silly. Go get a ruler and look at how big an inch and a half is. Is that really the difference between some of you wanting a guy as skilled and talented as Beasley and bypassing him completely for a lesser player?

Watch the guy play. He is going to be a power forward and a very good one.
